Okay, everyone has acne problems... unless you're sooper lucky and you've never had it. So, here's some things that I've tried and work for me. Hopefully, you'll be able to find some things that will work for you too.
Tip #1: Try using a
Blemish Touch Stick.
--The one that I use is from a company called Desert Essence. It's made from Tea Tree oil and all you do is apply it to the affected area consistently. It works if you're faithful and stick to the directions. It doesn't smell all that great, but it's not horrible either. You'll get used to it.
--Where to buy? Go to a health store like Trader Joe's (yes, that's where I found mine) and you'll probably find it for about $5.00 or under.
--Also, don't apply it all over your face... Target small areas at a time.
Tip #2: Buy a good
Exfoliating Face Wash.
--Exfoliating every day will help you get rid of dead skin and keep your skin nice and smooth. It'll also get rid of the dirt that clogs up those pores, causing bacteria, and ew, the dreaded pimple.
--Make sure you get the right kind of face wash for your specific skin type. My face is usually oily, so the one that I chose and works wonderfully is
Clearasil Ultra: Acne Clearing Scrub. It really did clear up my skin in a few days and I use it in the morning and evening.
Tip #3:
Eat well and over-hydrate!
--This, I believe, is probably the most important. Don't eat junk food (as much as we all love them) like: Potato Chips, Ice Cream, Oily foods, etc.
These are very fatty and will cause you to break out often.
--Eat more veggies and fruits for snacks instead. This will not only help your face, but will help your entire body.
--Also! don't forget the water! We are made up mostly of water and it's very important to stay hydrated, especially when it's hot. It will help clear up your skin in no time if you drink A LOT of water. And no, I don't mean one glass a day! So, get those 8 glasses a day in!
Tip #4: If you can afford it... Get
Dermabrasions and Chemical Peels once a month.
--I know that we all aren't loaded with money, but check with your insurance company and ask if derms and peels are included.
--These treatments work great and derms are a Godsend! If you're like me and have acne scars, derms will help get rid of those nasty marks!
--Peels sting some, but that depends on what your esthetician uses. Overall, I say it was worth it!
These a
few things that I found while experimenting with different products and regiments. They worked on me, but there are many different skin types out there, so keep on looking for the right brand and type and hopefully, you'll stumble across something that works for you!
If you have any questions, I'd be happy to answer them to the best of my knowledge!
