Ari-Nana is on a distinguished road
Default Re: Teach me about your country! :3

I'm from Argentina meaning Land of Silver
Argentina is a melting pot (much like the U.S.) we consist of a whole lot of
Europeans - 50% of wich are Italian - such as myself.
Oddly enough where I'm from (Mendoza - Alvear) we have a HUGE Japanese community! Woohoo!

The food is Italian, Spanish, French and German food! Ñoquis, Spaghetti, Milanesa, Sausage...etc. Asado - lots of cow, we like meat Well not me personally, but generally yes.
Desert/Every day food: facturas (Viennese-style pastry - O.o where'd THAT come from?), Dulce de Leche and mate (An herbal tea thats yummy!)
"The official language of Argentina is Spanish, usually called "Castellano" (Castilian) by Argentines. Castilian is a noun and adjective that refers to the region and former kingdom of Castile in Spain; in particular, it may refer to a native person of Castile or to the language of this region, and is therefore considered by many to be a synonym of Spanish, though with different nuances."

The capital is Buenos Aires where a huge part of our culture was born - Tango! Thats right - we invented it! It was considered inappropriate because of the close proximity - but hit a craze later on in France as well as other European countries and finally the U.S. (1913-is).
Buenos Aires is said to be the France of South America I beleive? Anyways it IS said to be the most European Country in South America.
And Folklore: Gauchos and Gauchas; It's the more traditional side Originating I think in Las Pampas

Sports:
Futbol (soccer) is the most popular sport in Argentina! National team is twice FIFA World Cup Champion and one-time Olympic Gold medalist and fourteen-time Copa América winners!
We eat, breath, sleep Soccer! And most children learn to kick a soccer ball before they learn to walk!
Runner Up is between Rugby (rawr!) and Polo! We are known to have the best Polo Horses in the world.
Tennis, Basket Ball, and Field Hockey are also popular. Mano Ginobili From the spurs? Yeah - he's from Argentina!

Music: Tango and "Argentine rock, called rock nacional, is the most popular music among youth. Arguably the most listened form of Spanish-language rock."

Education: 97% Literacy. Um...school pretty hard over there I was there in the school system for couple of years. You go to tutors everyday to get into a good high school to go to a good college and you have basically three choices; You study to get into these technical schools and have to do perfect to get into University. Although a big part of it is about money and connections as well the education is usually very strict and good. When I was in the fifth grade I came back here and the level of math was three years ahead so just to give you a rough idea: although I personally wasn't with everyone at that level over there so I was just average over here -.-"

Religion: Mainly Roman Catholic

I won't go into politics because it's complicated and right now the economy isn't so hot. Lets just say we've gone through several depressions and it'll take a lot to get us up and running properly again.

Well for right now thats all I can think of and the quotes are from Wiki! (Thank God for Wiki!)

So...yeah!
