since i haven't been doing anything this summer i want to start doing some creative and unique crafts. but i'm just a beginner so does anyone know anything i can start with?

i wanted to start with doing some decorative shoes. once i get those done i'll post some pictures up. but i don't know what i should use. permanant marker or paint? if i use paint then what kind? it has to be paint that won't wash off.
i'm great with sewing so sewing projects are easy for me.
but the thing is the sewing machine is broken.
