So, I agree with the rest. You gotta find a way to communicate with him. Do it very casually and subtle...the more subtle, the better. Maybe when you're waiting with him at the bus stop, ask him where he got his ___ and that you think it's very nice, and you would like to get ___ for your brother's birthday (a compliment AND an initiative!).
Eeeek, telling your friend to tell him that you like him is a definet no-go. It's just too...err, childish? It's like, even if he knew that you like him, is he supposed to just walk right up to you and say, "Hey! I heard you have a crush on me! Let's get to know each other!" (-_-??)
