Six years is a rather large gap for a 17 year old. I think it's not good to go with someone that much older because 1. Older men usually expects more sexual activity...so you might be pressured into it even if it's against your will 2. Cohort effect, that is, his views/interests could interfer from yours because he aged at a different time 3. General disapproval from others (family, friends) and that's just not a good feeling.
