Thumbs up Re: Being an Exchange Student???

I went twice to Ireland as an exchange student to practise english and work but I knew the language before the experience which was great and you'll make some friends, it's a great oportunity.

If I were you, I would move to Japan or China!

Nobody came here to my house, but I stayed in a family house when I was there.

I think that it depends on the country that your staying with and the type of program, your going to take apart of. I plan on doing the same thing next year if i have all the general requirements.

Say like Japan or China, I believe that most require you to know at least one year of that language or maybe even a semester.

You should check with your advisor about that, they could set it straight for you.

Well, knowing how to speak a little bit of the language would be nice. And knowing the culture as well. I'm Chinese and I know how to speak Cantonese too! And I would really like to go to Hong Kong as an exchange student. It's a great place since you know Cantonese and it's a fashion paradise there! <3
Japan and Korea would be nice too. :]

I'm going to Japan with Rotary in August and I will be staying there for a year. Even though I'm not on exchange yet, I'm positive that it will be the best decision I have ever made. Go for it.
