Pawning vs. Online Selling

Hey guys!

So I'm currently in desperate need of money. I wont really get into it, but it's safe to say that i'm officially freaking out because I can't afford to pay my bills, coupled with the fact that I need to pay for university next year. I want to cry...Anyway, so i've decided that to pay for my immideate expenses without dipping into what little money I have saved, i'm going to pawn some things. Mostly jewelry, because I give all my old clothes and things to charity. That being said, I know that pawn shops don't usually offer a lot of money for most things. So, here's my question to you guys: do you think it would be better to pawn or to sell online? I'd like to get the most money I can for what it is i'm selling, but I've never sold anything online before. I'm also really confused and intimidated by all the online selling sites, like ebay. Any advice, thoughts or experiences would be greatly appreciated!

This is just my opinion but I think you'd be better off if you sell certain items online as opposed to pawning them. I don't know how it is in your country, but where I am, when you pawn jewelry pieces, especially those with tiny precious gems on them, you run the risk of having some of them taken and replaced with fakes if you end up going to a shady pawnshop. You can try Livejournal, Soompi and other online selling sites as these are free as opposed to eBay which charges you for listing, putting up pictures, etc.
