Dizziness :(
Ugh, sorry for bothering you guys but I'd really appreciate some opinions on this! D:
Lately I've been having these 'dizzy spells'. Like all this weekend I've been feeling randomly faint and woozy. It happened all day Saturday, my head just felt weird and I didn't exactly feel nauseous or anything :s Just super dizzy! Sunday I wasn't too bad until the afternoon, when it started happening again & the same again today at school :| I have a feeling that it could because I'm not drinking enough fluids...my dad said that last time so it's probably that, but on Saturday I drank lots and it didn't help much :/ But I'm gonna keep drinking more water and see if it makes a difference.
So, d'you reckon it's nothing to worry about? I'm prolly just worrying over nothing! I guess I can really start panicking if I faint or something! AAH! xD
Thank you for helping me out! ^_____^ <3

Re: Dizziness :(
well, i would worry about it because dizziness can be a symptom of quite a few things. i know you said it might be because you are not drinking enough water, but it could be that you aren't eating enough or that your blood sugar is low.
i was anemic a couple years ago and i couldn't stand up without getting dizzy. i still get that way a lot, but it's mainly either because my blood sugar is low or because i just got up too fast lol.
anyhow, i hope it's nothing and i hope you feel better soon~

Re: Dizziness :(
Do you feel dizzy when you lay or sit and stay up fast or turn around fast or is it very bad when you do something like this? I had the same problem as you, mostly when I did something of this. The doctor told me it's because of my blood pressure, at some days it is too low. It's not dangerous (unless faint and fall at something hard) and I have to take pills against the dizzyness as required. Most people don't have to take medicaments against too low blood pressure itself, because it doesn't damage the veins like too high blood pressure. The strange thing is that almost only women have too low blood pressure and that it goes back to normal after a while (it can take years or ,like in my case, it is only for a few hours and comes back in a few months).

Re: Dizziness :(
the_zoyra: Thank you so much for your advice My mum actually thinks it's because I'm not eating enough red meat or something(?) Because I don't eat a lot of it tbh :/ So she's fussing over that too...hm. I know my friend kept fainting and stuff and she went to the doc and he said it was low blood pressure...maybe it could be that? If it gets any worse or doesn't go away, I'll definitely go and get it checked out Better to be safe than sorry! Thank you for your help!!!
Azur: Hehe, sometimes I get up a bit too fast and make myself dizzy xD But it's just been happening randomly...like this morning I was fine, and then by about 2:30pm I started feeling super dizzy all of a sudden :s I think my mum has one of those blood-pressure tester thingies at home somewhere because hers is high sometimes...I should prolly ask her to test me when she gets back from her holiday xD Last time I went to the doctors though, the doc checked it for me and said it was fine :| Anyway, hopefully it won't be anything serious Thank you for your help!

Re: Dizziness :(
Ohh I meant "low blood sugar" which is:
Hypoglycemia, also called low blood glucose or low blood sugar, occurs when blood glucose drops below normal levels. Glucose, an important source of energy for the body, comes from food. Carbohydrates are the main dietary source of glucose. Rice, potatoes, bread, tortillas, cereal, milk, fruit, and sweets are all carbohydrate-rich foods.
See, a lot of people who only eat three meals a day and don't snack some, tend to have low blood sugar. All you have to do is eat or drink something a little sugary when you feel dizzy, and you feel better.
And your mum could be right about you not eating the red meat for one reason: iron. If you're deficient in iron, which is what I was when I was diagnosed as anemic, you experience things like:
- Lack of energy, feeling tired and weakness.
- Rapid and forceful heart beat.
- Low blood pressure with position change, from sitting to standing up.
- Severe menstrual pain and bleeding/ abdominal pain.
- Decreased appetite.
- Headache.

Re: Dizziness :(
^ Oh, I'm sorry! I must have misread it as "pressure" xD My bad! And hmmm! That's quite interesting actually! Next time I have a dizzy spell I'll chug something sugary and see if it makes me feel any better! When I got in from school I had a drink of cordial and snacked on some chocolate pocky and it made me feel a bit better! *scratches chin* But the thing is, I eat alot of bread and pasta and rice etc., but maybe I'm not actually getting enough? Hm!
And wooooah, iron deficieny? DUN DUN. I've heard of that, maybe that could be it? I'm not so sure about some of those symptoms but the first one definitely applies to me at the moment :\ Just incase it is that...is there anything I could do to help it besides eating more meat? D: Thank you sooooo much for your advice by the way, Zoyra! You're a real big help!

Re: Dizziness :(
No problem!
Well, I was a vegetarian when I was anemic, and they still suggested me changing my diet so here's a list of some iron-rich foods:
o meats - beef, pork, lamb, liver, and other organ meats
o poultry - chicken, duck, turkey, liver (especially dark meat)
o fish - shellfish, including clams, mussels, and oysters, sardines, anchovies
o leafy greens of the cabbage family, such as broccoli, kale, turnip greens, and collards
o legumes, such as lima beans and green peas; dry beans and peas, such as pinto beans, black-eyed peas, and canned baked beans
o yeast-leavened whole-wheat bread and rolls
o iron-enriched white bread, pasta, rice, and cereals
Meat is the best way to get iron, but I went for BEANS. I ate so many beans. And I don't ever remember getting tired of them because there are so many types of beans. I STILL eat beans every day haha. Also, I ate turnip greens about every other day because we grew them in our garden and I wound up picking them.
The other big thing is iron supplements. I bought a big pack from CVS I believe, and I still have some left over...I think I took the pills for about a month until I was able to incorporate more iron-rich food into my diet.
If you're actually iron deficient, you'd have to get blood work done to make sure. That's also how I found out how much iron I should consume daily.
Hope that helps!~

Re: Dizziness :(
the_zoyra: Thank you so much for the advice! I will definitely take all those foods into considerations! ^__^ Mmmhm! BEANS! I <3 beans of toast with a friend egg! YUMMEH. I also love kidney beans in chilli...so gooood! & yesh, I think the best thing to do (if it's not dehydration or whatevz) is to see my doc and get some blood tests...EEEEEEEEEEEEEK! I hate needles >.< But I guess I'd rather find out what's wrong than just guess My dad also suggested taking Omega 3 fish oil tablets (blek) but he said they're supposed to be good for you or something(?) I felt okay today, but by the end of school I felt so weak and horrible :\ But then I realised that I'd only eaten cereal in the morning and a bit of toast later...and that I'd only have a mocha to drink xD So I swigged some water and it made me feel a bit better. I'm stoopid xD Thanks once again! You're teh best! I'll jot down all those foods just to remind me every now and then! ^________^
RozuBunnehx3: Hehe! AWW! Thank you! ^_______^

Re: Dizziness :(
Aww, that sucks. Hope you're feeling better soon.
But just eat healthy food, if it won't go over, maybe see a doctor?

Re: Dizziness :(
Isn't spinach high in iron? If it is iron deificiency I don't suggest iron tablets, they taste foul!

Re: Dizziness :(
^ yea, spinach is a source of iron.
lol and no matter how bad a type of medicine tastes, if it's something essential for you to take--like with iron deficiency--then just suck it up and down it, i guess. i would just say don't take iron supplements unless you're sure the absence of iron in your diet is affecting your body.

Re: Dizziness :(
Thank you SilentMorning I will def. go see my doctor if it gets any worse!
SPINACH! Dun dun dunnnn! I'll end up like Popeye! But I lurrrrrve spinach in Cannelloni! NOM. Good stuff :3 Thank you for the tips, Firex! (I made a cool new nickname for you! Firex...YEAAAH! :])
Yep yep! I won't go chugging any pills until I'm certain what the problem is! :3 Tbh, I reckon it's dehydration + tiredness + stress (from all this University hoo-haa!) I remembered to drink lots today and took a proper packed lunch with me and I felt okay! Still a bit weak, but not too bad :3 But I will certainly keep my eyes open for any other signs or changes or whatevz!
