New style HELP!!
hi, heres the problem i haven't been dressing the way I want to...at all. I love asian style but I would appear as a "poser" at my school if I just started wearing street wear one day O_O. Its my last year and I've decided to say screw it. Im finally going to dress the way I want, thanks to asiajam(yay) but my problem is how do i properly change my style without being made fun of? Im a bit of a shy girl and I hate to be made fun of , I also want to dye my hair, its short(just above my shoulders) and I thought I could dye my hair black and put dark blue extentions in, adding different color clipon extentions which change depending on my mood(w00t). I have wanted to do this for...forever but It would look really poserish if I just showed up with Black hair and Blue extentions. SO anyone have suggestions? please help!

Um theres nothing you can really do about reactions. The only thing i can say if you want to avoid that is slowly transition into it? like...one day you wear some clothes...one day you dye your hair? Frankly i think you shouldnt give a shit i meanif you have enough guts to do it all just ignore the comments. I went from preppy to really dark and plain and skinny jeans stuff :P and you know what after the initial shock....people really like my fashion and I get so many compliments on a daily basis

I agree, you should add bits and bits of elements of your new style to your current style now...then eventually people will notice that you have worn some of the stuff before and won't say anything.
I hope this helped!

there was this girl who went to school with me once. for those three years, she dressed in large t-shirts and jeans with chains, and she never did anything with her hair. the next time i saw her, she had completely changed. she had braids in her hair and was wearing a preppy polo. so yeah haha - it's okay to change. i'm sure that people commented on her, but they probably didn't say anything negative

i agree. if/when people make fun of me, i just stick it right back at them. or if you're uncomfortable with that, then joke it off. the last thing you wanna do is agree with them. if they're like "hey, your clothes suck" and you go cry, then you're agreeing that your clothes suck. but if you instead go "then buy me better clothes." and prance around, everyone else will be like 'wow, she's cool and confident".

Well, I personally don't think anyone would judge you for wearing "asian style" clothing. I mean, the clothes they sale in AsiaJam isn't crazy and stuff. Changing your style completely might make some people talk, but that's something you have to deal with in order to dress the way you like. Maybe if you change your style little by little could help? But really... this is your last year. You have to dress the way you feel. Who cares about these people saying that your a poser anyway? They are probably jealous of your awesome clothes!

I say go for it!
When I started wearing a skirt to school after 2 years of trousers, people would make comments and look at me weird and stuff, because nobody wears skirts. But, after the initial shock wore off, no-one cared. Just do whatever makes you happy, without caring what everyone else thinks~!

^ Really? Wow.. people wear skirts here... o_o Most of them are denim though but there are others. Girls wear a lot of heels too lol;; I guess I just wasn't used to seeing so many people in heels because of middle school uniforms and such. Plus I'm not a big fan of wearing heels myself. (Mainly because I have trouble walking in them XD).

haha, we have to wear uniforms, and usually the girls all wear trousers. So I come walking in in september wearing a skirt, with only about 3 other people wearing them as well.
Now it's only like, me and a year 7 girl who wear them. >_<
One time some idiotic boy actually told me it was disgusting I wore a skirt. strange kid.

Most of my guy friends agree that women should wear MORE dresses and skirts, cause in this era, it's sort of a rarity...which is sad I think.
If you really want to wear different looking clothes, but hate the possible negative attention you might attract, then I dont think it's worth damaging your self-esteem. Save it for the weekends; there's no need to impress other students anyway. Aside from that, look forward to college! You can wear any style you want and rebuild your reputation.

You should definitely wear what you want But ease into it, a unique piece each day, so you don't look like you're dressing in a completely different way all of a sudden. And definitely wear it confidently, wear it like you're the most fashion-forward girl in school

round here girls wear skirt, but problem is, they're too short!! Seriously one girl wore daisy dukes to school (I know they're not skirts, but it's just ridiculous!)
