Acne, Big Pores, and a lot of Fat.
Well, time to ask for some advice. My Mom is no help, and I don't have any friends to ask so, yeah. Well, I have an acne problem. There's not much redness, but my face is really oily. I also have big pores that make me look like an orange (I'm eating one right now, teehee). Can anyone recommend a good product to use? Currently I'm using Garnier Pure face wash, but it's not really helping. I'm not concerned about the price of the product, just the effectiveness.
Next, is my body. Every teen has something they hate about their body. Well, I'm a tad too fat. I want to purchase items on AsiaJam, but I can't fit anything. Here are my measurements:
Bust: 35"
Waist: 34"
Hips: 38"
Any tips for losing weight? I have flabby arms too, that I'd like gone. I don't like wearing sweaters in Summer, but I have to because I'm insecure. I'm a very picky eater, so a diet for me is terrible. No yummy foods. I will diet if I have to though, not like the end of the world. I love fruits and veggies.

if you have acne that bad, i think you should go to the dermatologist. a lot better than any products on the market...BUT, the st. ive's apricot scrub reccommended on here is good!
and about weight. hmm. honestly, the only (good) way to lose weight is through diet & exercise. it's that simple :]
& when i say diet, i don't mean anything like those fad diets, but just eat healthy and don't have portions that are too big. one way to motivate yourself to eat healhy is to take up cooking! i feel a lot more motivated to eat healthy foods when i cooked the meal myself :]
as for exercise, maybe join a gym?
best of luck!

Acne:
- yeah, best to ask a doctor or a dermatologist. I think I've gone through TWO different Px for acne. I will warn you this: acne medicine, perscribed, WILL STING. The actual solution for acne is a lot better than gel any day, because the gel dried out my skin and you can't layer with it (it always came off if I put another layer of acne medicine on).
Fat:
play tennis every day and go bike riding! just enjoy life. play some sports outside for a few hours. drink lots of water! eat lots of fruits. ^_^ Walk everywhere you go, too!
That's what's helped me over the years. :# hope it helps you!

i'm not sure i can help with acne, but i do have some suggestions for flattening your tummy!
i posted the exact same thing on another thread, but here it is again:
after you finish taking a shower or something:
1.) start out by doing 60 crunches [every day is suggested for best results x]. no stopping! you can do it!
eventually, i upgraded to 100, so when you feel like the time is right, add in a few more crunches!
2.) do 20 push ups. doesn't have to be perfect, mine were always barly 90 degrees, i suck at them. but hey, i started getting small biceps nonetheless!
3.) side crunshes. i actually have no prove of this working, since i didn't realize anything major like (#1) my belly flattening or (#2) my arms getting less flabby, but i do them anyways because i want to be curvy x] i do them standing up, which is quite awkward if someone were to run into me, but luckily, no one has.
i definatly recommand that you try this out! it's not very time-consuming ta all! but remember to be consistant!

Thanks for the advice everyone! It's very appreciated!
I'll try the Apricot Scrub stuff before the Dermatologist, just in case it works. Besides, I'm scared of doctors.
I'm attempting to learn to cook now, since my family generally eats fatty foods. Like pizza every 2 weeks. Haha, I'm sick of pizza. Yes, well I hope I don't start fires. I almot did once when making toast (^^'). I always walk everywhere, since I don't like taking the bus, and my family has no car. I just don't get out much, because I paint digitally. I'll be healthy in no time!
Thanks again, everyone! We're having pizza again tonight, So I'm going to make myself a veggie sandwich. We just had pizza 3 days ago.

As for losing weight, I strongly suggest a partner to keep accountability on each other.
I drag my mom to the YMCA, and vice versa. :3

umm for the acne there is this one thing my ex-friend used (she had REALLY terrible acne, and it cleared up her face really well!) it was called pro-active. it's gotten really popular over there so it should not be a problem finding it.
as for the fat...engage in physical activities! though for me it's not your body you have to change, it's your state of mind. learn to love yourself.
but something my sister does a lot...is when she's eating she doesn't eat two choices of carbs. like for example, there's meat, there's salad, there's rice, and there's backed potatoe. she'd eat meat, salad, and ONE choice, either rice, or baked potatoe. same goes with pasta and everything else that fattens.

Thanks for the help. I actually really like my body. My muscular calves are the best, and I check my self out whenever I walk past glass windows. People stare at me like I'm crazy.

Hi there!
I used to have terrible acne too, so I began researching on how to better my skin condition. I recommend using oil-free face wash, moisturizer, and make-up remover. It’s also a good idea to look for products that are soap-free as well. Oil-free products are becoming quite popular nowadays, and can be found in most drug stores. Some brands that I know sell oil-free products are Clean&Clear, Neutrogena, Biore and SpectroJel.
Also, if you wear make-up I would suggest looking for oil-free products. I recently started using Maybelline’s Pure Make-up foundation, powder and concealer. It’s oil-free, and really nice! Mineral make-up is good for acne-prone skin too, but it’s harder to find and a bit more expensive. I know Neutrogena has recently come out with a line of mineral make-up, although I have yet to spot it in my local drug store.
ProActive Acne Solution is a really nice product as well. I bought some from a stand in my local mall, but you can also order it off the television if you happen to catch the infomercial. It’s pretty pricey I’ll admit, but very worth it. All the products are oil-free, and they make a wide array of products. I like they’re make-up removing clothes and oil-free face lotion. They also make products for body acne. I also highly recommend SpectroJel, especially if you have sensitive skin. I’m currently using the dirt-removing facial pads, and they work like a charm!
As for the weight issue, I’m currently dealing with a bit of that myself. I think it’s great that you’re learning how to cook, because once you figure out how fun and simple it is, it isn’t a hassle to make yourself great tasting and healthy meals. Perhaps you should buy a healthy meal cook book (I have several) and try some of the recipes. I also think it’s a good idea to find a friend who’ll diet and exercise with you. A little moral support is key when trying to achieve a goal. You definitely have my support!
Good luck, and take care of yourself!

Acne: I tried all sorts of things on the market, but nothing worked. A lot of it made it either a little better or a lot worse. I went to a dermatologist and was prescribed some topical medicine for my face. Ever since that my face cleared up like magic and I couldn’t believe it.
Big pores suck. I have them too, and I don’t know how to get rid of them. I have the same problem with oil. >_<

You know what the best way to get rid of huge pores
and acne is, and it costs no money whatsoever?
Washing your face with hot water and soap.
Going out and buying scrubs and cremes for your face
can really create skin problems for alot of people.
Theres been research that it can damage your
pores, create permanent blackheads and make your
acne go away but scar afterwards. Just
wash your face with hot water and soap .. alot.

But don't use the same soap you use on your body! Bar soap can really ruin your skin. It doesn't contain any sufficiant moisturizers, so it'll dry-out the skin on your face. When the skin on your face gets too dry, it starts to pump out oil in overtime. That can lead to a permanent oil problem, which as you pointed out, is already somewhat of a problem. They make face wash for a reason.

I thought it was bad to wash your face with hot water? Isn't it better to just use warm water?

Well, I usually use warm water first, and when I rinse off my face, I use cold water. Someone told me cold water makes pores smaller, but for a better effect warm your face up with warm water first.
