Haha! Holy, I've been researching this all week too! Sites I found that are interesting are:

www.threadbangers.com
www.burdastyle.com
boredandcrafty.wordpress.com
-- http://boredandcrafty.wordpress.com/2007/12/31/my-own-guitar-bag-oh-yeah-happy-2008/]Guitar Shaped Bag (So cool!)

And there's a bunch of books out there that you can buy that are "apparently" great, such as "99 ways to cut sew, & deck out your denim" Although I haven't decided on buying those or not until I get more reviews on it. I can post more links as I find them, if you want. I have a dress almost made but I never finished the zipper... lol I ought to finish that!

What is really a shame is my great aunt is one of the best seamstresses around. She used to travel around Canada when she was younger. But she's like, 84 now and lives far away so I can't just call her up and be like, "Teach me to sew!" She used to make barbie doll clothes for us and all kinds of things. Plus she customized my grad dress for me too. ^-^

I agree with burdastyle, and craftster, those are AWESOME sites for patterns/tutorials! The people there are really nice too!

Since you seem at least familiar with using a sewing machine, a simple skirt shouldn't be hard. there was a skirt tutorial on this forum, a while back.

^ you can totally use black/pink fabric, and sew on lace trimming, for a lolita skirt

I hope that helped! If you do manage to make one, post pictures! ^_-
