unwanted hair xD
Okay, errr, this is a sort of odd question. xD
I have very pale skin and black hair; whenever I shave under my arms, there is still a dark "shadow" there, and even though my skin feels smooth it sometimes looks like I haven't shaved at all! This doesn't happen when I shave my legs, though... Does anyone know of any way I could remedy this? I'm embarrassed to wear anything sleeveless or raise my arms or anything. >.< ops:

I have that to! Its because your pores are really big, not just because your hair is black. Shaving your legs there isnt much you can do, I have heard waxing does wonders...but I have yet to try it yet! I want to though!!!! and as for the arms.....DONT. the more you shave the faster and thicker it will come soon. I recommend just leaving your arms alone. I have really brown hair on my arms to...but you know what? know one notices it except me or until I bring it up. Dont worry about it

Haha, well thanks for the tips. :P I don't shave my arms though, because the hair there is really thin; it's UNDER my arms that's the problem. xD My legs don't have this problem, thank god. xD
It didn't even occur to me that it might be pores... I'll try and think of a way to fix that then, haha.

Not sure about any advice on how to fix it, but I've seen A LOT of people with the same problem, so...
I don't think you should have to worry about lifting your arms up or anything, since you're not alone. ^^;

i have that problem and my hair isnt even that dark. oh well its not as embarressing as constantly sweaty underarms >__> even the strongest men's deodorant doesnt help (yeahh tmi, i know)
i shaved my arms for some reason in 8thish grade and the hair grows back reallly slowly for me. it's actually a bit darker now, but it takes at least a week for it to come back at all. i still wouldnt recommend it though....
omg my friend is so lucky! she shaved her arms in elementary school and the hair grew back really thin and spread out so you cant even see it. also she can go months without shaving her legs cause the hair grows back so thin and slowly for her.
kk enough rambling

i get the darkness in my underamrs too. I try to use an exfoliarto every other day. which works. it's not gone but it does help to sluf off that layer but not too rough, under arm skin can be sensitive. and try to use deoderant without aluminum because:
Quote:
What makes your deodorant different from others available?
Our deodorant actually helps to eliminate odor causing bacteria instead of just masking it with a perfume. Our Original Unscented deodorant is completely unscented and fragrance free. As you know, perspiration itself is relatively odorless. The characteristic smell we call BO is really from the action of bacteria which feed upon the proteins in perspiration and dead skin cells.
Will it keep me dry?
No. To stay dry you would have to use an antiperspirant, which uses aluminum chloride to block the sweat ducts and keep perspiration from escaping. Many people feel that stopping perspiration can work to the detriment of our health. Also, since the skin under our arms tends to be thinner, and since there are numerous lymph nodes in the axillary area, aluminum salts can be easily absorbed and may find themselves circulating throughout the body. Aluminum is a toxic metal that has been linked to immune dysfunction and Alzheimer’s disease.

For your arm hairs, cant you just bleach like a little, to make them less noticible, my sisters a hair dresser and thats what she says people do for dark arm hair.

Try using Certain Dri. You have to follow the instructions carefully, especially the waiting to shave part, because it's strong. You can find it at drugstores such as CVS or Walgreen's. If you need more than just an anti-perspirant, WalMart makes just deoderant, so you're not overdoing the anti-perspirant.
As for dark underarms, even though it's expensive and more than likely not covered by insurance, try using the laser method that eliminates hair. (Is it called electrolysis?) Then you won't have to worry about it for years.

Ban works pretty good.
I have the sweaty problem too. [There's a name for it: Hyperhidrosis, each part has it's own: hands (palmar hyperhidrosis), feet (plantar hyperhidrosis), underarms (axillary hyperhidrosis). People with hyperhidrosis can sweat even when the temperature is cool, and when they are at rest. It is said to be genetic.]
Ban is also is less prone to putting marks on clothes.
I hate the "underarm shadow" thing. It makes me so angry.
But I've seen people who have tiny prickles and wear tank tops and it doesn't bother them because they don't want to irritate their skin.

This recipe is good in whitening dark underarms and neck.
You will need:
Lemons
Cucumber
Turmeric
Procedure:
Extract lemon juice using juicer, and extract the same with cucumber. Mix lemon and cucumber juice together with a pinch of turmeric.
Apply to neck or underarms daily and leave this for 20 minutes. Then rinse thoroughly with lukewarm water.
