7/9/09: Forum is down, data lost - Please read!

Dear Jammers,

With a heavy heart, I regret to inform you that AsiaJam Forum may have lost all forum data from this year, 2009. This means, all posts, threads, profile changes and membership sign-ups during 2009 are lost.

If you signed up to this forum in 2009, you may find yourself unable to log in. NO, you were NOT BANNED. We just lost our data. Please, sign up again. I know it sucks, and I know you just want to throw diversity at AsiaJam right now, but we promise you we will do everything possible to restore the forum!!

So what happened? 2 days ago, the server that hosts AsiaJam Forum went through an overhaul. In the process, it lost our data. We reported the problem and it was 'fixed' but we realized we were back in 2008! So now, programmers are scrambling to retrieve our data but they say it is not looking very good There's a high likelihood all data from 2009 may never be restored

But hey, as long as they're still working on it, I'm going to remain optimistic! And so should you!

I'll update this thread every time I receive new information on their progress.

Till then, I'm so so sorry for any inconvenience caused..

Even if we lose everything from 2009, WE CAN REBUILD OUR COMMUNITY AND WE WILL! Won't we??

UPDATE: 7 Sept 2009
If you haven't already read this thread, it has been confirmed our 2009 database cannot be restored. It is gone forever. BUT, we Jammers are a resilient bunch! We're going to restore the forum and make it better than ever! So, check back this thread every now and then to get updates on our restoration project For now, here are some updates:

1. Garage Sale - Sellers' requirement reduced from 50 posts to 20 posts
One of the rules to make a selling thread is, you have to have at least 50 posts. Now till 30 November 2009, you only have to make 20 posts to make a selling thread Come 1st December, it'll be back to the 50 posts rule.

2. 'Jammer' Promotion - Drop from 50 posts to 30 posts to qualify as a 'Jammer'
As you make more and more posts, you'll realize you get more and more 'privileges'. For example, inserting links and images in signatures, getting a bigger mailbox space, and some other cool stuff So starting now till 30th September 2009, you can be a Jammer just by making 30 posts. Come 1st October, you'll need to make 50 posts to qualify.

3. Wholesale Review thread restarts!
Our dear Jammers have restarted the thread but it needs you to re-post your reviews! So if you've made a purchase before, get over there now and contribute!

4. The AsiaJam Appreciation Thread - awwwww because Jammers ROCK! Love you all!

It's terrible that the data is gone but let's be optimistic!

I'm sure its no big loss We'll just rebuild! Besides, any threads that people made can just be remade if the person wishes it to still be up I know I woulda lost some but tbh they had died anyway so :P I'm just glad it's back up!

I am so super touched to see so much optimism and solidarity in the Jammer community!! Not a single person complained! KUDOS to all of you! I'm now more ready than ever to rebuild the forum!

it seems a little weird without them x'D i suddenly have a strange sense of time haha

but,hopefully people can resign up and recreate threads if they want them back~
