AsiaJam REBUILDING Plans! Please suggest.
Dear Jammers,
We have received confirmation that all our 2009 data cannot be recovered.
I know many of you are very sore about the data loss. I know you worked very hard to build up threads, posts, friends and reputation. Our regret was further heightened when we received this e-mail...
Quote:
Due to your mass loss of data files for 2009 forums I will not re-register for the forum.
Please note others may not re-register for the forums.
If this mass data loss happens again you will upset many of your loyal jammers.
Goodbye.
I regret this end in business and communication.
|
We at AsiaJam are devastated over the loss of data. We have tried our best to recover it but to no avail. Make no mistake, we take full responsibility for this incident. We admit, we did not think of taking extra precautions to back-up the forum data elsewhere. We have learned our lesson, although in the most difficult manner and at the expense of many dear Jammers. We are truly truly sorry. This will not happen again.
I think what makes this community stand out is that we've always been there for each other without stereotyping and being judgemental. We need those qualities now more than ever.
I want to work with all of you to rebuild the forum - bring back important threads, bring back registered members who lost their account, help existing members lessen their lost and most importantly, bring back this forum to the mood it were before.
Please help suggest ways to achieve this. If you remember a thread/topic you felt important, list it here. If you can think of a way to encourage members to re-register, list it here. If you can think of ANYTHING that helps you and this community, list it here!
Most importantly, remember that this community if FOR YOU. AsiaJam will take your suggestions seriously and whenever possible, we'll be democratic and let all of you decide what to do.
Thank you so much for your continuous support, understanding and patience!
XOXO, bellytuner

Re: AsiaJam REBUILDING Plans! Please suggest.
I think the contests should be brought back up ASAP, as they were a big part of the general forums. Perhaps we should postpone it a month, though? Or maybe half a month. I've never been able to compete myself, but a lot of people did.
I bumped up the 'Last Jammer to post wins' thread, it's a good way to build up our post counts again.
I'm sad that people aren't rejoining! I have a new friend here on AJ who quickly re-made her account to contact me. I'll post more idea's if I can think of any.

I don't really have any suggestions, but it's rebuilding itself already. We'll get there =]

Re: AsiaJam REBUILDING Plans! Please suggest.
I know people liked the Outfit Contest.
That would be really great to bring back...
and the fact that we were in the middle of it to...(or near the end of it)
I bumped up "post your picture" thread.
I think thats one of the really good things to see here.
Cause it allows you to see all the cool jammers here.
Its sad that people won't re-register.
It's not like AsiaJam made the crash or whatever happen.
It was an accident that can happen anytime.
Next time I just hope AsiaJam is more prepared.
But I personally will not hold it against yall.

I want the forums to come back to their original awesomeness!
Let's all work together to bring it back to its greatness!
AsiaJam FIGHTING!

Re: AsiaJam REBUILDING Plans! Please suggest.
I think we should make a new outfit contest with the same theme as the last one, so that the jammers that already posted their outfits can still participate in a contest with the same picture!

Re: AsiaJam REBUILDING Plans! Please suggest.
the good thing is that all the people that registered in 2009 and had few posts are now erased, and only true Jammers will re-register hehe :]
i'm sure we'll get things back like they were :] i agree with PomPom ... Rockabilly theme ended, and it was time for voting, so we can just ask the jammers to post their photos again, and continue with the contest ^^
the Lucky Draw thing will also be back... hmm, i can't think of anything else :]

Re: AsiaJam REBUILDING Plans! Please suggest.
Aw man, I feel so bad on bellytuner and the rest of the AJ team! In my opinion, it's not your fault at all - it was a total accident, none of us expected it and there's nothing we can do now except rebuild the forum and make it BETTER. Of course people will feel a bit miffed, but let's get over that and kick our butts in to gear! We'll bring back the threads that were lost, like you guys have already suggested ^__^ and we'll make some cool new ones! I'm so sad to see people leaving :/ That email made my face go like this -> D:
Hey, remember that thread that was made where us jammers suggested new sections? Like a gaming one and so on? Why don't we try and do that? It might encourage people to start posting again and bring AJ back to LIIIIIFE!
I can't think of any threads at the moment that may have been lost...but if I do, I shall let ya know! ^__^
OMGG. I have a cool idea! Or it could be lame...but whatevz How about we make an AJ Appreciation Thread!?!?!? We could post photos of ourselves wearing our AJ stuff or sporting signs that say just how much we love this site! Or jammers could just post a comment or something! It might be a nice way to bring back a bit on enthusiasm and cheer us all up!
It's an idea

Re: AsiaJam REBUILDING Plans! Please suggest.
I feel bad that people are blamng AJ for the data lost!!! you guys have tried everythign to get it back but too bad.
Also, it's maybe hard to say.. but we will get new members back and only true Jammers will return. Don't feel bad! Nobody can take down AJ.
I think teh forum is busy with rebuilding. It takes some time but we'll do our best.
I agree, I think the outfit contest should be back up. However.. I don't know if that member was a 2009 member. If so, somebody needs to take up the part of sending the price out at the end...

mm,this.
although it feels weird to have lost the 2009 stuff, to be honest we should remember... it is just a forum. NOT to say it's not an awesome one xDD definitely my favourite internet forum ( ;
BUT nothing physical was lost and no actual harm came to anyone. people can resign up (and in the same name), remake threads they liked, etc etc.
it' s great people are pulling together over this ~yes, let's rebuild the forum together! in some ways,it brings members together more .
it's difficult, but i don't think this should turn into a big drama. people can only learn from mistakes and everyone move on.
i felt kinda sad to read about that email. : ( it's the senders choice to leave ofcourse, but it's sad this kind of consequence ended up happening.
(i don't actually have any suggestions to contribute to the actual topic of this thread sorry > __<;; )/useless
edit; the asiajam appreciation thread sounds great ! : D

do it do it do it maybe asiajam could use some as well for promotional purposes? Like banners and stuff for other websites, to promote the forums themselves would boost sales as well i think, if people can see the clothes on real people not just the models!

Re: AsiaJam REBUILDING Plans! Please suggest.
The only thing that made me sad to loose was my collection of uncommon korean shops, and someone already re-stored that for me.
Personally I think people who don't re-sign up,well their loss,we should just continue to post and enjoy the forums.

Re: AsiaJam REBUILDING Plans! Please suggest.
For those members who don't want to re-join, it's there lost. I think it's easier to rebuild the forums than to sit around and mope about it. I've been on quite a few forums that have just disappeared So I'm glad this one could come back, that's all I really care about.
I don't have any suggestions, but I do want to outfit contest back, and I like the new diy contest too.

Re: AsiaJam REBUILDING Plans! Please suggest.
Something everyone just can do is to keep posting.
I haven't been posting here for a while but when I read that everything from this year was gone I decided to be a bit more active here again, cause I feel that that's atleast something I can do.

Re: AsiaJam REBUILDING Plans! Please suggest.
I was so surprised over the loss of posts, but I'm so over it now. I know that with time we can bring AsiaJam forums back to the way they were before, and maybe even better. We just need to keep posting to try to bump down older threads to restore it to how it used to be.
I was sad to read that e-mail! Like others said, I believe that the true Jammer's will be the ones to return. And if they choose not to... Well, it's their loss. This forum and community is truly amazing so I don't see why someone would want to abandon that just over data loss.

Well, I don't have any suggestions as of yet, but it's already starting to rebuild again. = o= And for people who don't want to register again, that's them. ^-^ i look forward to posting and help rebuild it, just like everyone else who wants to get it back to it's original state! :3

Re: AsiaJam REBUILDING Plans! Please suggest.
It's a shame nothing could be recovered, all of the links (I forgot who posted them) of uncommon Korean website links were really helpful and info on other beauty products and routines were also really important and informative

Re: AsiaJam REBUILDING Plans! Please suggest.
Right guys, if it's okay with you all, I will set-up the AJ Appreciation Thread tomorrow ASAP! I'd do it now but it's sorta late and I'm very tired x3 So I'd rather leave it till tomorrow and do it properly than just shove it up real quick now -.- I knooow, I'm a lazy bum! But it gives you all time to go take some photos in preparation! Hehe x3
And redpixie! That's a fab idea!! It would also help out a lot of jammers who are maybe considering buying something but aren't 100% sure! If they see other jammers wearing it, it would probably help them make up their minds! & you're totally right, it helps promote the site too! DOUBLE WHAMMY! x3
Okies, so I will remember to post that tomorrow, in the Jammers Lounge? Mebbeh? x3 Or should it go someplace else? *scratches chin*
Righto, I'm off to bed! Night fellow jammers! x

Re: AsiaJam REBUILDING Plans! Please suggest.
Phew, I sure am glad I saved that list of korean sites. It must have taken a lot of effort for the original poster to compile, so what a waste it could have been!
Unfortunately I do not know what could be done to rebuild other than to recreate the threads that people found most helpful...

Re: AsiaJam REBUILDING Plans! Please suggest.
I AM SO MAKING A FANSIGN FOR ASIAJAM!!
maybe even a video!! XD
And that email is sad, makes me kind of mad.
And I don't see why people wouldn't re-register.
I think Asiajam is one of the best forums out there where the members actually care and the moderators are really nice and bellytuner and cool are so super kind!
