Hair dyes/bleach from Japan ~ Gatsby and Dariya
Has anyone tried these brands before? Anthing you can say about them or if you reccomend them? Were you happy with the end result?
I want to dye my hair brown but I have to bleach first because I have black hair so I wanted to try the products from Japan. I found these on ebay.
Dariya Palty
Gatsy Natural Bleach and Colour

Eeek home bleaching. I did that once. Turned out very badly.
Anyways, I've seen Palty sold all over the web. Apparently it's popular. I haven't used it, though.

Lol ah :x The colour was bad or the way it was bleached?
My auntie helped me bleach my hair last time and it turnt out okay just that it's so damaging. The bleached bits felt like horse hair and when it was wet it felt disgusting.. And now I want to do my whole head..x_x Ah but i really want lighter hair so it can't be helped I guess

I had dyed my hair black and finally got tired of the upkeep, so my sister bleached my hair. It was horrible. Orange and black and all sorts of incredibly ugliness. Now I get my hair done professionally, but it's so expensive!

If you have colour in your hair from a previous dye and you bleach it, it will always turn out yellow/orange, even if you go to a salon and they bleach it. The difference from bleaching at home and bleaching at the salon is that after they use a toner. The toner makes your hair go the colour you want it to. So, let's say you want platinum blonde but you had previously dyed your hair black. They will bleach it first and it will most likely go orange. After that, they eithe rhave to bleach it again or they put toner in it. The toner is the platinum blonde. Same process I went through when I dyed my hair platinum blonde.

Gatsby is supposed to be good and recommended by a lot of people, but I used one that I bought in London, but You can get it a lot of places else where, It can make even the blackest hair go to golden blonde! It is called SmartBeauty: Smart highlights, they have different hair colour products as well
http://smartbeauty.eu/
Mine was called "Cool blonde" and It has lasted nearly 3 months!

PALTY PALTY PALTY!! C:
i've dyed my hair with it (my friends and i had a "hair dyeing party" LOL)
the colour turned out really nice~ * U *
minimal damage...yayaya~
plus the colour hasn't faded, it's been 3 months.
i used milktea tart, it's a browncoppery colour. =)
its especially for asian hair too so it will show up (hair dye for caucasians/light hair doesn't show up much for black hair U_U)
go to soompi palty thread for more info. =)
http://www.soompi.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=63015
i recommend palty~
but gatsby is good too...it's for guys though (short hair) so there isn't much dye. :B
my friend dyed his hair with gatsby and it looked nice, wasn't dry or damaged. =)

Erm, no. If you buy a suitable bleach, your hair color (especially if it's dark!) will go up shades much lighter. Although if you just buy a regular dye, I doubt your hair color will increase THAT much, although Palty is known for dying dark hair colors pretty well

Unless you have a lot of hair dying experience under your belt, bleaching dark hair at home isn't a good idea.
Most of the time, the demographic that these products are marketed to are the ones who won't be able to get the results as shown on the box.

Re: Hair dyes/bleach from Japan ~ Gatsby and Dariya
About home-bleaching, it will not turn your hair orange UNLESS you've home-dyed your hair before.
Most dyes you buy in places like Wal*Mart, or similar OTC dyes, are progressive color, or 'metallic' color, and when exposed to chemicals such as bleach, will literally 'rust' in your hair, leading to that orange color. That's why you shouldn't use dyes that are labeled 'progressive color'. If you've never dyed your hair before, or got it dyed at a reputable salon, bleaching your hair shouldn't make it go funny colors.
If you have dyed your hair with metallic color, don't worry, it's not as bad as henna, it will actually come out. Before dying/bleaching your hair out, about a day before, wash your hair with dishwashing soap, like Down, it'll take most the rust out.
Also, use the proper bleach, if you have dark hair, mix both 40, and 20. Put the 20 on the roots, 40 on the rest. It might take several times over a month or two, but doing that can get it from black to blond.
As for the dyes, never used those dyes before. I normally use Redkin.

My orange hair did NOT wash out, and I scrubbed it almost until it died.
What happens is, especially if you have long hair, like I do, you can never get bleached hair even, because of the heat from your scalp. The heat "activates" the bleach, and the hair closest to your scalp gets the lightest, while the rest stays an ugly color you don't want.
I know a girl with naturally black hair who went to blonde and her hair turned out to be an orange color. She kept it like that, and it's been MONTHS and it's still orange.
