Makeup newbie >_<
I need a little advice :s. I have never been wearing any makeup before. Nothing at all, not even mascara or eyeliner!
I have dark hair, and my eyelashes are blackish and pretty long, but i'm beginning to think that my face looks.. naked, somehow Oo. It just looks pretty plain and boring, and sometimes i look tired >_>.
So I'd like to try wearing makeup! What kind of makeup should i try? I'd like to look pretty natural. I like my eyes when i look at them close up, but from a little distance they look boring >_<.
Does anyone have some advice?

Well, I don't know if you have a shop called Boots where you are, but they have a makeup collection called 'The Natural Collection' it sells natural looking yet pretty makeup. Sometimes for natural looks, a bit of mascara and blusher does the trick

Re: Makeup newbie >_<
To me, the natural look is to not wear make up =S So I guess I can't really help.
And not wearing make-up isn't boring, because EVERYONE else wears it. So you stand out by not wearing it =P

Re: Makeup newbie >_<
You must have pretty good skin not to wear make up! My skin is pretty blotchy so I hate not wearing it, but I also hate having to put it on because I'm so lazy. xD Anyway:
- Highlighting under eye concealer
- Blusher
If you have some spots, get some concealer. That's all you really need :P
If you want your eyes to stand out, use some mascara (I'd recommend Loreal Voluminous or MaxFactor Masterpiece ) and do a line of eyeliner on the upper lash line.
Hope this helps!

I'd recommend starting with trying tinted moisturiser (it'll even out your complexion a bit without being full on like proper foundation) & a bit of lip gloss & maybe some clear mascara. It'll give you a nice natural look & a starting platform before you try any 'advanced' products. Definitely have a play at you local department store/drug store.

I look tired and kinda like a sick person without makeup. LOL. I think you should wear some foundation, eyeliner, and lip colour. You can look natural even with all these on. You tend to look made up if you wear dramatic eye shadow, bronzer, blush, but the 3 I mentioned are really staples.

Re: Makeup newbie >_<
I don't wear any makeup aside from the occasional lip gloss. that alone is fun...having flavored, shiny, sometimes sparkly lips! hehe.
BUT, from what I've gathered about people who look good with little makeup...they generally just use some blush, concealer/foundation, and mascara. truthfully, they look much prettier without all of that stuff, but it does work well for them!
good luck!

Re: Makeup newbie >_<
i used to wear A LOT of make up, but i've cut it down to under eye concealer, foundation/ powder to even out skin tone, mascara and blush. if you're gonna use concealer to hide the shadows under your eyes, don't overdo it and remember to BLEND! or else you'll like like a noob with unnaturally light undereye skin like me when i first started womp womp

Re: Makeup newbie >_<
I think I'll go for a little mascara, and then just make sure to take care of my skin so that some of my pimples will go away >_>.
Thanks again n_n!

Re: Makeup newbie >_<
I remember starting out on makeup... I was a total nub at first too, but I've learned. I think I've only been wearing makeup for maybe 2 years now? And I'm 20, lol. I started by grabbing a pressed compact powder which was too light for my skin, hence doing nothing for me. Fail.
I never started with tinted moisturizer, nor have I ever used it, but that is definitely a safe place to start. If you want to jump to foundations and mascara, these videos will help you out a lot!!
On The Go FOUNDATION Review
On The Go MASCARA Review
Thought I'd share those so you know what products to choose without making your wallet cry
Also, I LOVE Michelle Phan's videos. They are super helpful and her makeup techniques are wonderful. She also has some videos on how to apply foundation, concealer, etc. so I recommend checking those out as well. Here's her xanga as well: >>> www.xanga.com/ricebunny <<< So you can check out all her tutorials!

Michelle Phan has a new blog, so check it out here: www.michellephan.com

Re: Makeup newbie >_<
if your skin can do without foundation or concealer then i would recommend you not use any. IF its not cleaned well at the end of a long sweaty day then dirt and excess makeup will get clogged in your pores which im pretty sure you dont want. for me i look super young and tired without makeup.. so i just put on some eyeliner and im good to go on a daily basis. But if i'm going out then ill use: eyeliner, mascara, eye shadow, eye brightner, lip gloss, and if REALLY necessary concealer and foundation. (:

Re: Makeup newbie >_<
As a newbie, I suggest you to try more natural colors first then move on to more bright colors as you get better. Mascara with some shimmery white or light eyeshadow would look great, then some light pink lipgloss. mark have some great makeup for teens. I'm a rep so take a look at my site.
