I would suggest that you start to eat breakfast. People think that if you don't eat breakfast, you'll lose weight. But you'll actually gain weight. Just try to eat something. Also drinking cool/cold water can help lose weight too. I heard that if you drink cold water, in around a year, you'll lose a few pound without really having to change anything. Of course you'll lose more if weight if you change how you eat. I used to eat a lot of sweets and drink lots of pop. I changed that. I don't eat very much sweets or junk food for that matter, and switched to diet pop. I also started drinking a lot more water. It took awhile, but I managed to lose around 40 pounds without really having to exercise.

I personally would never take pills to lose weight. And I dont think you should start...it could be really bad for your body, and like someone said, you could get addicted to them.....I dont think you should have to rely on pills to lose weight...how about just do little things like take the stairs instead of the elevator? Park just a little further away from your destination...I dunno lol just some suggestions...

I would! I was actually thinking of taking something to help me to loose weight... I have had a problem with loosing weight for a while now... ~_~;; the only times I can seem to loose weight is when I got really sick and couldn't eat hardly anything, I lost 10 pounds in 2 days... and just recently, I had gotten sick, and I lost around 12 pounds over about a week or two... but other than that, even with excersizing, I cant seem to loose the weight. but you might wanna check the ingrediants in the pills though... I know that in such things as tylenol and other pain relivers, they have stuff in them that actually damage your liver... so be careful of which ones you take... I would definitely check them out before taking them. but, good luck loosing weight in whatever you decide to do! ^_^

I wouldn't use it. They're kind of sketchy in my opinion and most don't work or just get recalled after a year or so of being released due to side effects.
If you're too lazy to exercise, you could just watch what you eat. Eliminate take-out, junk foods, pop/juice, etc. and try to eat meals at the same time everyday so it will regularize your metabolism. Also keep in mind that it takes approximately three hours for your food to digest after eating a meal so if you go to bed at 10, make sure you eat supper before 7.

I'm pretty sure you can't change your metabolism since it is genetics so just lead an active life.
Diet coke isn't good for you either because it contains aspartame, which studies show, leads to cancer in the long run.

Pills are a way for them to make money: they don't work.
If you pay attention to the commercials, they tell you to take the pills along with a healthy diet and exercise... which you can do without burning a hole in your pocket on useless diet pills.

@cyndy; Breakfast is the most important meal of the day, as much as you've probably heard this before. It boosts your metabolism and gives you the energy you need for the day, or something similar to that.
Anyway, everyone's been giving great advice so I doubt I'll be much help.
I'm not that familiar with diet pills and exactly how it works and such, but upon reading first-hand experiences here I can assure you that it's not the best option for you.
So if you decide to go on diet pills and manage to lose the weight, are you sure that you're capable of maintaining it?
I don't know, I really don't like the sound of turning to diet pills.
Just cut out some snacks and google some easy exercises you can do at home... or DDR!
Well, good luck whatever your decision is =D

Don't do it!!! * I'm so over dramatic today
I have a theory that the companies who make those pills put stuff in them that 25% decrease fat and 75% increase fat elsewhere. So I think they actually make you worser because if everyone buy them everyone would be skinny and they would be out of business.

Diet pills which get rid of 'excess water' basically dehydrate you...losing water weight isn't a good idea, since it's water. What you want to get rid of is unneccessary weight in itself. Personally, I don't think diet pills are a good idea at all. But, if you use certain kinds along with exercise, they probably do work. There's no easy way when it comes to losing weight. :[

Uhm.. I was too lazy to read all the replys so i'll just let you know what I know.
Diet pills are fine. IF and only if they are recommended by your doctor who wouldn't recommend them unless your overweight. Pills taken when you don't need them and in excess are terrible for you. Most of the time you lose a lot of weight fast becaise they have a laxative effect, so really it's false weight, water and food passing through your system and what not not real fat. People who have seriously screwed their bodies over with this stuff have been left with no control over when they go to the toilet, this is in extreme cases but it HAS happened.
Don't mean to scare you but I've had bad experiences, just go see a doctor and get a prescribed one.

I wouldn't use pills to lose weight, I'm too skinny already. I think excercising would be better.

DON'T.
My biology teacher told me how those diet pills work.
>>> Nutriments you need such as vitamins, proteins and more are all absorbed by your intestines. They suck all the good stuff. But also fat and some other bad stuff.
>>> What pills do? Well, most of them attack the intestines. What happens is that the pills make the intestines stop sucking anything at all. So yeah, the fat doesn't go in. BUT! The nutriments you need daily won't either. In the end, it's bad for your health.
>>> Conclusion... DON'T!

Most diet pills do help speed up your metabolism.
If you eat well and excersise regularly already, then you'll just have to do even better. Like actually work out with weights and machines to tone up, then you'll lose fat and gain muscle.
And I don't eat breakfast either, I just drink coffee. And to be honest, when I do eat breakfast, I tend to eat more throughout the day then if I just have coffee. So if you're used to not having breakfast, if you start it might just make your stomach used to eating more so you'll be more hungry.
But I dunno. Everyone's body is different.

That's a myth, aspartame does not cause cancer. It was a hoax that spread through eMail forwards --- And to go off topic a bit here, anything and everything you read in an eMail forward is a hoax.
But back to the aspartame; You can find out the truth on the FDA's official government website here: http://vm.cfsan.fda.gov/~dms/qa-adf9.html
Quote:
|
After reviewing scientific studies, FDA determined in 1981 that aspartame was safe for use in foods. In 1987, the General Accounting Office investigated the process surrounding FDA's approval of aspartame and confirmed the agency had acted properly. However, FDA has continued to review complaints alleging adverse reactions to products containing aspartame. To date, FDA has not determined any consistent pattern of symptoms that can be attributed to the use of aspartame, nor is the agency aware of any recent studies that clearly show safety problems.

Same thing with me! I very rarely eat breakfast, and if on an odd occasion I do have something to eat, then I'm compelled to eat lunch as well, which I also always skip ... And then a snack ... And then a big dinner ... Then dessert ... Then another snack ... @_@;
I prefer eating nothing until dinner. It maintains my weight if I eat a large meal, and I lose weight if I eat a little meal. Simple!

i actually tried eating less for every meal (or at least dinner....) to lose a lil weight... but after a few days i just lose patience and eat more again lol >_>;
and somehow i think pills from doctors are bad too D: i heard those they use often makes ur heartbeat faster and unable to sleep at night... i really dunno why those advertisement keep on saying how 'safe' they are but at the end they actually got so much side effect...-.- the worse thing is we (me...) keep on trusting them that it's safe D:
i'm thinking of eating breakfast and lunch and skip dinner.......will that be a good idea? D: since i wont be doing anything else at night other than watching tv so i cant loose the calories gained from dinner...

Uh... NO. Not a good idea.
You should NEVER skip meals. When you skip a meal, you'll get even hungrier and you're going to want more food.You're going to eat more snacks. And snacks aren't usually healthy.
If you want to lose weight, don't be lazy. You have to work for that. Pills aren't miracles, they won't help you 100% because they always have a down side to it. My best advice to you is: instead of eating less like you tried for your 3 meals, try eating less for every meal but you must have 5 GOOD meals during a whole day. Five good, healthy meals. Plus, you have to exercises. It's almost the only thing that is going to burn your calories. You don't have to do those tiring workouts. Try dancing perhaps for 15 minutes. It helps a lot. Before sleeping, do 30 sit-ups. It's already something.
