What is a good weight for my height?
I am 5 foot 2 inches or 5 foot 1 inch, i'm 8 stone at the moment, but i would love my target to be something like 6 and a half or 7, or is that too low?
:?: :?:

theres websites that can tell you that sort of thing but it doesnt necessarily mean you weigh too much or whatever... everyone has a different type of body...

^^ Agreed! I actually find chubby girls a lot cuter than skinny girls, and like... rail-thin model types freak me out! Eek!
But, yeah. If you're wondering if you're unhealthy or something, I'd recommend asking a doctor or somesuch about it. Height and weight comparisons aren't always accurate, because what you need to know is your body composition! Yep.
Also, I have no idea what "stone" means, so I'm not much of a help. :?

Im 5'1" and 104 lb. Anything below 101 at this height is medically underweight.

Argh, I have no idea what stones are either. ops: Sorry.
If you're really curious, you could always go to the doctor to get a physical. I go every year and they tell me if I'm in the healthy range for my height and weight.
I'm 4' 11" and about 110-115 pounds, which is in the healthy range. I'm not very skinny, but I'm pretty average I guess and I'm kinda muscular too. I know that about 126 lbs is overweight (but not obese) for my height and that's all.
I wouldn't worry too much, though. Everyone is different and the charts aren't right for everybody.

It depends on your body. If you have muscle or fat. Weight isnt a good indicator. Afterall, its just how much gravity is bearing down on you. I think fat percentage is much better at healtly weight indication.

well theres something they do called a skin fold test. Where they pinch certain areas of your body, like the biceps for example. Its very scientific. They take those numbers and apply it to a formula, where it chugs out your body fat percentage. Some doctors can do it using a machine, or you can test it at a health food store/ vitamin store.
In a skin fold, they just pinch your skin and fat tissue that surrounds the muscle. When skin and fat tissue are pinched it doesnt hurt. If it hurts, then you've pinched too much and thus pinched the muscle.
I got mine done at school in our human anatomy class.
Usually doctors can do it. It totally painless if they do it the high tech way. They use a device that sends out electrons to measure the fat percentage.
Ah, another reason why weight isnt a good indicator is because if someone is 200lbs and about 5'5, but works out everyday and most of it is muscle. You can't say they're fat, because its not really fat.
I went to a science museum once. Weight also varies on how much gravity is on the planet you're on. You'd weight much less on the moon and such.

LOL you actually dont have to do that...Theres an observatory in LA...griffith park. They have scales on how much you'd weigh on different planets and on the moon. So you could go weigh yourself, and tell people thats how much you weight So technically you do weight that much, since well that scale says so

So, she's 5'2 & 112lbs?? That's about right!
They say for a healthy weight 5'0 is 100lbs, then add 5lbs for every inch. Of course, it's different for everyone with frame size, etc.
I'm 5'8, 118lbs, & my doctor says it's a little under what I should be & I shouldn't lose any weight.

Last time I checked. I was 44kilos or 97 pounds for you americans and I'm 5"1. Though I don't see myself as really skinny even if it sounds like it. I'm still quite fleshy at this weight, I think that's strange, maybe I have ultra light bones or something...

Yeah, it really depends on your body type. Like some people have light bones, others heavier/thicker. If you have more muscle, that's also some weight. I find myself quite chubby and crap but the doctor said that I was a healthy weight. Even though I'm not too happy with the bugle and flab rofl. xD; She said that if I wanted to lose some weight, I shouldn't drop below 130lbs or I'd start losing bone mass. I'm at about 10 pounds above that ><; I'm pretty sure that you're a good weight so don't stress it!

I'm 5' 3", and I'm over 200lbs. Just kidding, I went on a scale and it said that, so I freaked out. My friends said it was broken, and that her dog weighed the same, although he's a little dog.
Last time I checked I was 110lbs. Most of my body is made up of muscle. I'm not sure if that scale was broken though. It was in the Phys. Ed teacher's office, so I tried it out.
