Points for the forum

Would it be possible if this forum could install a point hack, so that everytime we post - we can earn some points?

I think that would motivate some more users to join!

Also - if we reach a certain amount of points, we don't need to pay postage or can have a discount of something? lol

Or maybe like a virtual shop sort of thing...like we can buy different stuff to decorate our usernames?

I know what you're talking about (forum currency), but I'm not so sure what purpose it would have in this forum, really... since it is just talking about fashion and whatnot.
I guess the discount part would be interesting.. but I dunno. ^^;

Sounds like a good idea. But Asiajam's prices are already pretty low and very reasonable. If things were any cheaper EVERTYTHING would be out of stock all the time. :?

they already reward posters by doing the lucky draw each month.

though it would be nice to be rewarded points for the amount of times you post (rather than just having to post 5 times a month), i think it would cause unnecessary spam/useless comments/etc. if you actually could get discounts with the points. that didnt really make sense; im having trouble explaining it....

i agree with you ...i think the free prizes at the end of each month is enough incentive for spam and useless comments anyway! lol ....

exactly what i was thinking :/ but more so with the prizes at the end of the month, you tend to see people posting just 5 posts and then you never see them again because they didn't win haha. but with this you would see just random, useless posts and i hate those.

Yeah with the points you might get tons of useless posts to delete and so people for the lucky draw make useless 5 posts each month and move on

asiajam is already very kind, offering monthly prizes, free items, free gifts and such....and now they have a whole cash earning system. i think that's good enough, considering all the other fashion sites. almost none other is like asiajam. i am quite satisfied the way it is :]

asiajam is very friendly and cheap as it is, i think points would ruin the forum for me

I think the Lucky Draw is already a lot. It woud be sad if people post tons of entries just to get those bonus stuff. The forum would be field of spams and it wouldn't be fun anymore.

Yes, apparently most of you are probably forum veterans and already realize the problem with rewarding users for just posting (even if it's just points and nothing else).

However, VBulletin does come with a reputation module which we are still figuring out on how best to set up. Let's wait and see. Lot of cool stuff are coming AsiaJam's way. They all just take time. But all your comments are being taken into consideration.
