it depends on how many and how you do it.
last time I got into a argue with somebody that posted this every 2 days:
kjsagjdhgbdrjxxbfghbvvbh
or: BUMP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
if you do it eacht day and all.. It can be concidderd as spam.
you can also post them as much as you want.. but mods can merge them into 1 post every month. this way.. it will look better and nicer to read. the downside is.. you will loose post counts!

Re: Ask Here Your Questions About The Garage Sales!
OK, this is probably a load of stupid questions, and I don't know how easy it is for you to answer it, but I've never sold anything online in my life, but I've got a lot of stash at home that I need to sell, and I need money for my up-coming Japan vacation, sooo... how do I do it? I've been buying stuff from eBay, so I'm fairly familiar with PayPal, but while looking at the threads already here, it seems like you must have an account on PayPal or something in order to sell? And how do I get my money through PayPal? How do I calculate how much it will cost to ship it to another country? If I sell my item to, for instance, an American, who pays me in American dollars through PayPal, do I get the money in American dollars too? And how do I get the money after all? Do they just appear in my bank account after the payment is done? I probably sound like an idiot, but I really, really don't understand how paying through PayPal is done

Re: Ask Here Your Questions About The Garage Sales!
Don't worry! I also had no idea how to use paypal at first, but it's actually pretty easy and convenient!
If you want to sell things on here, what I do is get ideas from other threads. Just post your rules on your page, and start adding items! You don't need paypal, but it's a good thing to have since it's safer than concealed cash. Some buyers and even sellers on AsiaJam don't have paypal, so they use concealed cash (sending money through the mail, but concealing it to avoid it being stolen!).
If you want to add an account to paypal, all you need to do is add whatever info Paypal asks for, and then it will be verified (meaning you can start sending and receiving money through Paypal. If, for example, someone named David sends you $5.00, once you've received the money, it will show on your page that you've received it from David. The money will remain in your PAYPAL account, but if you want to send it to your bank account you can. Just check the paypal website to find out how.
If you are located in America, then you probably will want to receive money in dollars. If you're located in Canada and doing business with someone in America, you can request the buyer to convert the money into Canadian dollars, and vice versa.
Shipping costs depend on where you're located. You can look on the usps.com website for estimates on how much it costs to send items through the mail, based on where you want to send the items, packaging and weight. It really just depends on locations and weight, and also how fast you want to send the items, since the faster it takes to deliver the package, the more expensive it will be.
I hope that helped!

Re: Ask Here Your Questions About The Garage Sales!
You don't have to use PayPal to sell or buy, though! ^^ You can always go with 'concealed cash', cheques, bank tranfers, or money orders!
In fact, I never use PayPal anymore, period ... I and so many others have been scammed by PayPal themselves, it digusts me! Me and my family lost around $500.00 combined! ((If I remember correctly, it may have been a little less.))

Re: Ask Here Your Questions About The Garage Sales!
Omg! Is that true?:O But, how do I use the other methods? Concealed cash seems so risky...

Re: Ask Here Your Questions About The Garage Sales!
Money orders? What exactly is that? And I'm so sorry for spamming down this whole section, it's just that I don't want to do anything wrong...
Edit: Never mind, I think I found out most of it googling around, and it seems like money orders aren't even possible since I in any case will be shipping from Norway I still have a few questions, though. If I decide to go for bank transfers, do I have to have an online bank account? I don't think I have one, see. And I couldn't find out how to calculate the shipping costs from usps.com. Or, I did find out, but only if I'd be shipping from the States, which I am not. Is there any way to find out the shipping costs if I'm not shipping from the States?

Re: Ask Here Your Questions About The Garage Sales!
^ for shipping, you'd have to check out norway's postal service. whatever that is called. lol you'd probably know. or just drop by the post office and ask if you can't find the website.
for bank transfers I'm not too familiar but all I know is that you have to have their account number and then you can go to the bank and say you want to transfer X amount of money to that account.
There's probably other ways you can do this but I've only done it once and that's what I did.

Re: Ask Here Your Questions About The Garage Sales!
After considering this many times over, I think that PayPal is the easiest and safest way for me to sell, especially because I assume I'll mostly be doing international shippings. However, I've still got some dumb-ass questions for you :
1. While looking through the transaction fees on PayPal, I noticed that they mention "depending on monthly volume". What is monthly volume? Even though I looked for it, I couldn't find out what they mean by this.
2. Many sellers here mention "combined shipping". What is this?

Re: Ask Here Your Questions About The Garage Sales!
^
1. monthly volume is probably the transactions within a month. if your recieving lots of money, it is better to have a premium/business paypal account than a personal one. though I'm not 100% positive on this. Im just assuming.
2. It means if the buyer buys more than one item from you, you'd combine the shipping for a lower cost.

Re: Ask Here Your Questions About The Garage Sales!
there is a new rule that you must have at least 50 posts to post in the garage sale section. the mods are working out the loose ends since you made your sale thread before the rule was enforced. sorry for the inconvience, it will be worked out soon.

Re: Ask Here Your Questions About The Garage Sales!
okay, I have a pretty silly question:
Are threads different in Garage sale - meaning, the seller can edit then even days after it was posted? Or does the person have to click on a specific thing to make particular post editable forever.
Because I've seen posts being edited over days and even weeks, when stuff is sold and they put a SOLD under the original item description.
Thanks
