Ask Here Your Questions About The Garage Sales!
i really want to do this garage sale now, here.
and i can, and all.
but i don't have a PO Box, which means i'd have to use my own address.
and i'm pretty paranoid. I don't usually like giving my address to ANYONE.
..
would you say it's pretty safe to send personal info over the internet, in messages on this website,?
not even that, but the people on here..
are THEY stalkers? lol, sorry. i have to ask.
because that's what i'm most scared of.

ahaha, that' s down to your personal trust.
i doubt many people if any here are stalkers x'D;;
so it's up to whether or not you can trust them.
i would say you' re safe.
there's a feedback section, (here)so you can check if the seller for how people got on with them in the past if you like.

you can always look at the feedback section... but selling here is all on your own risk.
but so far I have never ever heared anything about stalking.
also, this is a huge forum.. but there are a lot of girls you can trust. no mather what. some found great penpals/e pals on here too. =)
and made friends on myspace/phoophie/facebook and so on.
it's never wrong when you are being a bit carefull. but I can really tell you a lot of people are trustable. only make a transaction when you are feeling good about it.
never feel bad about asking questions.
I've sold and shopped on the garage sale and I never had any problems.

Garage Sale Questions
Um, I wasn't exactly sure where exactly to post this but I have some questions about the garage sale thing:
1) What is concealed cash?
2) Can you see DIY things? Or only brand merchandise?
thanks in advance! <3 this site and hope to sell things soon

concealed cash is money(dollars or whatever currency you use) sent in an envelope.
most people dont like this way cuz it might not always get to that person.
I think you need proof of the DIY merchandise. like pics of you making them or in your room and such. If it looks worth buying someone will buy it.
other than that I think you can.^^
hope it helped.

elyse is right about concealed cash
but as far as selling DIY things... it can only really be if you made something for yourself and don't use it anymore kind of thing. i believe.
if you read the rules and guidelines it says
1. Personal items only
This section is to help members clear/recycle personal items. If you are selling as a business, moderators have the right to cancel your listings.
What is 'selling as a business'? If you are buying an item solely for resale, then this is selling as a business.
Your items for sale should be products you bought/received and do not use anymore.
-- so you can't be making things to make a profit. if that helps.

you can. and you can ask any type of money you want.
but please note, people from the usa can't send you money that easy if you ask pounds.
be really clear of what kind of payment you accept and in what currency you need it ^__^
edit: maybe you can also do bank transfers? you need a bic and iban code.
you have some sites that will give it to you by writing down your banknumer.

I don't know how it works in canada with the rules.
but yeah, you go to the postal office and tell what kind of shipping you want. (normal or fast and so on)
you can always ask info at your local post office about the rules they have there.

I'm just wondering, if your shop goes to far back pages, if you just post something on it to keep it alive, would it consider as a spam? Or does it depend on how many you post?

@ Nitsue-chan: yes theres a website that can help approximate how much shipping would be and that site would be your local postal service website.
So you would use usps.com
Look for something along the lines of parcel rate calculation or calculate postage on the site.
Hope that helped! ^^

I was never aware that users could lock their own threads... If you want something locked or deleted just message a moderator
