Default Exchange Programs (CBYX-Germany)

Hi!

I'm applying for the Congress-Bundestag Youth Exchange program this year, and I was wondering if anybody else here has applied for it (and won) o:

For those of you who don't know, Congress-Bundestag is an exchange program between USA and Germany. I'm applying to study in Germany for a year, and best of all, it's all FREE! I'm working on my application now, and I'm going to be sending soon...I really hope I win! ^^;

So, I'm mainly interested to know from others who have participated in exchange programs (mainly in Germany) how their experience was like, and how Germany is! I'd also like to hear from people who actually live in Germany what I can expect if I'll be going next year~

Danke

i've never heard about the congress-bundestag, but sounds like a big chance! is it an exchange for school students or university? and is the winner free to choose the city and university were he wants to study? if so, berlinberlinberlinberlin HAHA
how is germany, i don't know. could be i'm a cocky berliner, but i like berlin the most and therefore i can't really tell you a lot about other cities. to me they're all lame and countryish, but i just don't know it better.
but we have some beautiful cities in germany, like bamberg, i went there once. the historic district is stunning and everywhere just students. there are other university cities like that, but mostly in south germany i think.
for me it's hard to say what is typical german or german culture (i think this is a nationwide problem, except for the bavarians )
but berlin is multicultural, very diversified people and culture, every district is so different. i don't know. haha
GOOD LUCK

It's for high school students, but I think there's also a scholarship for people who aren't in high school anymore. o:
Unfortunately, winners can't choose :C BUT, I really hope I get Berlin!! XD Mostly because I heard it rains the least there? I live in "sunny" California, USA now, so I'm not really comfortable with endless rain x_X

Thanks for all the info! 8)
