Question for people living in asia

Okay, forgive me for my ignorance...
I have a question for people living in Asia: Do you or any one you know smoke marijuana (pot, weed, cannibus)
I know it's a weird question and I am embarassed to ask almost *///*
I've never heard of any asian smoking it, a LOT of people in America do. Almost everyone now-a-days has tried it here.

Is is just very looked-down upon in Asian culture?
Are the laws very strict?

Sorry if i cause any upset, I'm just curious :3
