well...I don't qualify as a "hapa" because I'm only a quarter Chinese, and the rest is a bunch of other stuff... buuuut somehow I ended up with some a good amount of the features.
I have really dark NATURAL hair..never have dyed my hair EVER (though I wish it were a bit thicker)...
and I have a darker skintone than the caucasian part of my family...
I only wish I had more asian shaped eyes because it would just be easier for me...people can never figure out what I am because my eyes are rounder..so it throws them off *sigh*
My face shape is kinda square/round, and I have the typical cheekbones (not too prominent though..just a little). My nose is a little straighter/narrower than an asian nose though....
so yeah...I get asked if I'm hispanic/spanish/persian/indian ALLLLLLLL the time. It's so annoying having to say no and then explain.
I'm overall happy with how I look though...
So far I haven't found anyone who "looks" like me.
=D haha
Oh and about the rest of the questions....in school I was just friends with everyone- i didn't fall in one group...it wasn't hard for me to be a part of every group too.
All my asian friends just consider me asian, and everyone else just considered me either mixed (like everyone else in america) or caucasian. No one ever gave me a hard time about it or anything...
Maybe my highschool peers were different than most highschools....I always hear terrible stories about cliques...never experienced anything like that. I mean, there were cliques, but they were never nasty or racists to eachother..everyone was pretty cool with eachother...

I AGREE! When I found out they were going to Tokyo I just about SCREAMED!!! They were soooo freakin lucky to be able to work for those designers and just to be there!
I REALLY enjoyed the episode where they each had to go out and find thier own harajuku style outfits while attending photo shoots. The winner got to do the shoot for MILK.
MILK clothes are SOOOOO cute XD XD I was jealous LOL
no other ANTM has been as exciting for me as that lol...so far. I mean I like the shows, but Japan topped them all XD

hapa filipino here haha :] filipino / part white
at home my parents speak tagalog. i don't speak fluently so we talk in english, though :[
i like being mixed because i like the way i look XD i still look filipino, but a little taller & lighter-skinned than most filipinos
it's not hard to fit in at school because i live in an area with toooons of filipinos & asians. also i'm in college now so "fitting in" isn't really a problem haha, i'm just trying to do well in my classes. but it never was! although, i don't really have many filipino friends! the ones i have are hapas like me haha ;p
umm as for guys i thought about it and most of the guys i've crushed on have been chinese but that may just be because 1 in 6 people on planet earth are chinese haha. most guys i am attracted to (not like, have a crush on necessarily) are white. my boyf is filipino hapa like me, only more white than i am. and he basically just looks like a white guy XD
as for music ill listen to anything in any language if i dig it. i listen to a lot of japanese and english music, mostly. not too into filipino music because the "music scene" there isn't really too developed imo...it's mostly still just covers of american pop songs and weird stuff haha XD

I remember hearing that in Biology :P i always found things like that interesting. I've never questioned why some people had longer noses than other people because I always though it was just my God's way of making everyone individualized and unique. What you said earlier about the races really caught my attention- that was verrrry interesting and I don't understand why more people don't come to think of it like that? And why is it that everyone says Jews have really big noses?

D: i dont knooow. i have a jewish background and my friend would make fun of me and say i have a "jew nose" even though her nose is like two times the size of mine. im all self-concious about it now... i guess some jewish people have larger noses, but certainly not all of them..? its just a dumb stereotype.

yes, it is just a stereotype that baffles me. I watched on the History Channel once about how whenever Christians would draw pictures of Satan, they would draw him with a big nose to reflect Jews.
and your nose is not big!!! i hate it whenever people say something to you like that and then you get all paranoid about it.

I'm not half ...I'm mixed...lol
I'm French/Khmer/Chinese/Thai.
My dad speaks English/French/Khmer
My mom speaks English/Khmer/Thai
As for the Chinese part, its from my mom because my grandma is part Chinese but my mom doesn't speak Chinese
My household speaks English and sometimes Khmer since that seems to be the common ground but my family also speaks Thai and Chinese with those that can speak it.
yea I don't want to go into a lot of details, it might get a little confusing. Let's just say my whole family is part something! lol
I understand to some extent these languages as well as speak them but my main language is obviously English for being born and raised in Canada.
People can't guess what I am, I do look Asian so they assume I'm Chinese, Filipino, etc. I guess they are part right since I'm mixed with all those! (except Filipino) :P
When I was younger I was only attracted to Caucasian guys. But I'm more open-minded now and find all guys of all ethnic backgrounds to be attractive in some way.
I love being mixed! but I do hate it sometimes that I can't identify with a nationality. I've never had any problems with being made fun of for being mixed because I look more Asian, so I would get racist remarks from ignorant people. I've never had a problem for not fitting in at school. I'm friends with different ethnic backgrounds and high school cliches.
But in my extended family (like cousin of a cousin) what's that called? lol
Anyways, they do make fun of my sisters and I, saying we're "white-washed"
That meaning, we're Asian but brought up like a Caucasian.
My sisters and I don't look like we're sisters. My oldest sister looks more Khmer/Thai, the middle one looks Spanish (she doesn't look Asian at all), and as for me (youngest); my family says I look the most mixed and can't really distinguish what I look like the most.
I listen to mostly rock/alternative but I do love asian music! (jpop/rock, kpop, etc.)
Hahaha, I should just write a biography! you asked so many questions!
ok I'm done.

^LOL! That is very detailed!! And you guys can speak many languages *so lucky!!*
And yeah Im quite thoroughly mixed as well :L
My mum is Japanese but a few generations back theres Chinese and Korean mixed in there somehow...great great great greats? And my dad is a New Zealander but his mum is Irish and his dad is Scottish and his great great about 5x great dad was Spanish!
Phew! And at home we speak English...and a tiny bit of Korean and some Japanese...
I LOVE being...mixed coz then..I dunno, Im really interested in different culturs and languages and stuff and being like this, I guess then I have a very good reason to go overseas And of course, I love my relatives!!!! Its cool how one sides Asian and the other Caucasian...diversity! :P
The only thing I hate about being like this is that people can only see the one side of you...like here in New Zealand, people generally only see the Asian side of me but when I go to an Asian country they only see the white side of me...its kinda annoying Do you get what I mean??
Ummm sometimes its hard to fit in at schools...especially when people think that you cant speak their language when chances are you could prolly speak it better than them :P I remember one time LOL I was the new kid at school and the teacher was like ok, who wants to be her friend? And nobody put up their hand or anything and these people were like sniggering and pulling their eyes sideways and stuff...
About the guys...I like any cultures!!! It doesnt really matter to me LOL, its the inside that counts And my music interests consist of both Asian and Caucasian music! I even got some of my friends listening to my Asian music
And yeah thats about it...Haha yeah, it totally does feel like Im writing an autobiography :L :L

I really almost just listen to asian music and maybe bits of alexisonfire. MY hobbies?! haha Snowobarding mostly... hockey too. Workign out,. ;3 Music and watching k&c dramas. Oh yeah, I'm, cantonese. ^^ I want to be a model over in china or korea. I know it's kind of weird but i don't have very much interest in Japan, althoguh everyone else does. I just don't.. ;3

I'm not japanese mixed~ I'm taiwanese mixed with like...german, italian, american, etc...(caucasian)...and I don't look too asian..except for my "coloring" (dark hair, eyes, skin)...but my face shape and eye shape is definitely caucasian. So yeah. That's my story too. lol
