But I mostly got it at school, like my Asian friends would ask me questions like, " Why do black people have such big lips?" or "Why are all black songs are about the ghetto?". And sometimes it just pisses me off. I had this one guy in my classes that always made racist remarks, he was the class clown. But, unlike most people, he seems to do it in such a matter that we all just shrug it off. But it didn't make it right.
I get a lot talk about me because I like Asian music, fashion, just the whole culture and anime. I love listening to Dir en Grey, LMC, Beat crusaders, Asian Kung fu generation, and others. I love watching anime and reading manga. Because of this I really only have one black friend at my school. The rest are a mix of races. Off-topic, but once I called my group of friends the American dream because we were a bunch of different races ( African American, Asian, mexican, and white) getting along just fine together.
Though I think the worst was when I was walking home from school one day, and a group of white boys were talking about burning people. I didn't know they were talking about African Americans until they pointed at me and said, "Hey theres a black girl why don't we go burn her?". I was so scared and started to walk faster home. As far as I remember I never walked down that path alone again.

OMG what jerks. Those boys have problems, even if it was a joke.

they said sorry and walked quickly away ...hehehe

I'm white, but my good friends will know that I'm also Jewish. I'm not religious, just my Dads side of the family is Jewish so it's pretty much in my blood.
Anyways, I don't really mind for Jew jokes and stuff, but my brother had found something on the internet that must've been made by one of his 'friends' because it was directly related to us. It was just a picture but it had a rude a title and tags like 'jew' and 'nerd' and just lots of other rude stuff. It really pissed me off to see that, but it's really been the only racist thing I've had about me.

So its weird.

I was soo mad at something that happened yesterday, and it didnt even happen to me!!!
So yesterday, my mom decided to order some chinese food.
The guy *I'm pretty sure he was korean since thats mostly lives in this city* that delivers the food gets to our house and a kid that lives next door comes running out of his house and walks up to the delivery dude sayin, "ching chong bllaaaaaaahh chong" and I was like OMG!!! O___O
Luckily, my mom was standing at the door with me and she told the delivery man to ignore the kid....I was gonna walk up to the kid and tell him to apologize, but my mom said to just leave it alone cuz the kid had no common sense....

Ah, this is kinda long XD
OK, I have a lot to say, I’m sorry if this message ends up being super long >____<
I haven't had anything bad said to me this year since I've been in mostly upper classes but freshman year I had to take Study Skills 1st block and I got dumb comments all time. The minute the kids found out I was German (which was like...right when I got into class since they asked where I was from and I'm pretty proud of my heritage) they were all like "Nazi!" or "Don't kill me! I'm a Jew!" Ugh! I could strangle them! That's the worst possible insult you could possibly give someone that's German! I find it SO offensive! I wish I could be more like my brother! I remember when he was in 5ht grade a kid called him a Nazi and he punched the kid! The next day, the kid's mother made him apologize! (They ended up becoming best friends in middle school XD)Whatever happened to those days? The teacher was sitting right there! Do people not realize it's insulting? Everyone is ashamed of what happened!
A few other things though~~> 1.) I don't really mind this, because I know he's joking, but one of my friends is also German and he knows what part of Germany I from (I'm from the north-western corner called Ostfriesland) and he keeps on telling me Ostfriesland jokes -_-;;; (people from Ostfriesland are thought to be dumb and have no commen scenes)
2.) This probably only happens to me but~~> I get peer pressure to like communism O_o It's because one of my friend is Russian (and very pro-Russia and therefore, makes her some-what supportive of communism for some reason) and also some of the pro-communist IB kids (my school is weird, we have a whole group of IB kids that like communism O-o) and I can never say anything bad about communism around them. The minute I do they're like "Nationalist!" "Oh, you can't blame her, she's German, her entire background is nationalism..." -_______-;;;; I'm sorry, I just don't think communism works, that's my opinion, leave me alone, ne?
3.) I hate it when kids start talking about France and how great it is…I’ve gotten sick of it. I really don’t mind the French or anything, but I’m sick and tired of people coming up to me a going “German is such an ugly language! French is so much better” “Germany sucks, France is so much better” “Who would want to go to Germany?” and they make Germany off to be some sort of dirty, disgusting country! You know, the French aren’t any better then us!! T_T It makes me sad…I love Germany, I have my national pride!!
I'm sorry this is so long O_O I'm happy I got to complain about all this though XD

I can relate to the last two posts. I've gotten the Nazi comments before just because I was half, kids seemed to think it was funny. And you can't snap back at them or else they take as a reason to call you a Nazi again. Learned that the hard way.
German can be harsh, especially to those not used to the hard 'Ck' sound in some words. But not ugly.

Alot of people would think that being white means that you don't get to be part of the racist hate comments. Totally not true.
When I was in middle-school I lived in a very Black and Hispanic filled neighborhood. I was the 3rd white kid in my school (my sister was the only white girl in hers) and we got all kinds of crap. Mostly people assuming that we were racist purely because we're white. My sister got into alot of fights over it and I almost had my hair burnt off by this girl who swore I called her "black-head" which honestly, even if I were racsist and had called her anything, it would have been alot more creative than that. Plus she wasn't even black! She was Mexican. o_0 But yeah, not only for my race but I was constantly being picked on for not being Christian and dying my hair black. Appearantly in the area I lived everyone expected all white people to be blonde and stuck-up, and I was nither.
That was the only time I ever had to deal with racism personally but I have many friends of all kinds of different nationalities and cultures and we are comfortable enough to make racist jokes with each other because we all know that we don't mean it.
One thing that really drives me nuts though is though I no longer suffer any comments about my race/hair colour or such, my sister does. She was born blonde with blue eyes and since she and I are both 1/4 German people always ask her if someone in our family was a Nazi. But then she tells them that we're also 1/4 Irish and they're like "Oops..."
Racisim is global, and it's depressing to think about because no matter who you are, someone is going to hate you for it.

So true. some people even think.. If you're white you are automatic a racist.
when I was 8 years my mum and dad broke up and we moved to a very horrible street in Rotterdam. I got so much racist comments everyday. we were like the only white family who lived their. one day, I got called a neo nazi... just because I was white and had blond hair and blue/green eyes (funny, Im part jewish). some even hit me with rocks and stuff.. just because of my skincolour.
I hate racist people!!! what is the point of making people feel horrible just because they look a bit different'?? we are al the same on the inside.. the world would be borring if we all look the same

OMG that jackass! Hardly anyone in my family wears glasses and the ones that do, including me, wear them because we're freakin' short/far sighted!

I`ve experience that one before & I don`t even wear glasses. :|
Oh & I`ve heard the 'ching-chong-chang' many times before...

I don't really understand why ppl get such a kick out of making fun of ppl's race.
I am half arab and half chinese-filipino, but I wear a headscarf, so ppl will automatically target that. In junior high, i was playing flag football and this girl who was chasing after me "to get the football' was really aimed at tugging off my scarf! Luckily I was too fast for her :P After school, her boyfriend tried to do the same thing, while I was walking to pick up my little sis.
And high school isn't much better. In PE, this same guy keeps asking me what color my hair is. Um, gee I wonder, based on my eye+skin color?? Finally I got pissed and told him that it was rainbow colored.
And of course there are the terrorism jokes. One girl actually walked up to my sis and asked if she had a bomb in her backpack. o_O
At least college is sooo much better. The environment is so much more diverse, and ppl are less petty than in highschool.

Yeah, that's what I was talking about in my thread about Black and Asian Cultures. It seems like its okay for my white friends to learn asian languages but not me, I guess 'cause I'm black?
Also, my Chinese friend was talking about her close friend who is from Ghana to her other friends in CHina and they laughed and said she looked like a monkey. It's that kind of thing that really pisses me off, off that they would emulate what the few racist whites think of blacks and thinks its cool. It's really discouraging for me...
