People say I look Irish, and I don't have red hair. I think it's the mass of freckles swept across my noseand cheeks. And my mom looks Irish because she's tiny and has the skin.

i have a friend at work who is 100% Egyptian and everyone is always assuming that she is hispanic just because her skin is that tan color and she has black hair...

I'm 100% chinese! (No, I'm not Mandarin or Cantonese. My language is Szechuan.) A bit of history:
My late, late, late grandparents used to live in China! But because of the China/Japan war, my late, late, late grandfather was killed and my late, late, late grandmother had to run away from China. She came to Cambodia. This is where my parents grew up. They then had to move here and there because of war. Vietnam (where my older sister was born) to Thailand (where my other sister was born) and after that to Alberta, Canada... where I was born! We then moved to Quebec, Canada!

That's actually REALLY common. At least in Quebec, Canada. Almost every Cambodian people I know (that means a lot, lol) are mixed Chinese. Though, they only talk Cambodian.

I'm Irish, English, Scottish, and a tiny bit German. Definitely have the pale, freckled, Irish skin that burns easily...
When I was in about 6 or 7, I once got mad at my mom because I wasn't Japanese.

My mom's Japanese, and my Dad's Irish. I didn't know I was Irish until like, the 3rd grade when my grandma just randomly told me I was. And then a couple months ago she said I might have some English somewhere too, lol.
My little sisters (err, half-sisters) are a bit more interesting. Their dad is from Belize; they're half Japanese, and then have Irish and Guatemalan (no clue how to spell that), and maybe some other random stuff. :P

I love meeting people of different heritages/nationalities! It's mad stuff, yo.
Anyway I'm just a boring run-of-the-mill Greek Although I'm almost certain that my Grandfather on my Dad's side was half Russian, but yeah.

Lol, I've always loved being Irish. I got the skin, but it doesn't burn! (that easily, at least). My sister got it full on, it's so *not pretty?* when she burns. But my mom's side (Irish side) has a skin condition when we're babys. We get like, rashes on our faces and arms. And people would always say to me when I was little "OMG! You're is so cute. Look at all of your freckles!" (The older girls at my elementary school and random ladies in the street). I have to admit, I was a cute baby. I even got offered to be a baby model.
Gah, sorry about my rant. Couldn't help it.

Do typical Irish people have red hair and freckles? My Dad is Irish, but he has brown hair (it's funny though; I was told he had blonde hair when he was a kid, then it just changed). I know he had freckles, but those disappeared too.
I guess one way to really tell he's Irish, is because he doesn't get drunk? XDD

Lol, there's about 41 people on my mom's side, and 3 of them have red hair. But we all have freckles. Although considering 12 of us are either mixed or not Irish at all.
And my dad used to be platinum blonde when he was a kid, but now he has brown hair.

Oh man, it was so awesome. Family Guy tonight, what a coincidence. Peter found out Francis wasn't his real dad, so he goes to Ireland to look for his real dad. XDD
I have no idea what my grandparents looked like when they were young though.. I wonder if maybe one of them was a red-head then??
I don't have many freckles myself; they're mostly around my cheekbones, but not flat on my face... haha.

thats just a stereotype. though im a little bit irish and have some freckles, but they could have come from any of my different heritages ^ ^; my mom is mostly irish, and she has brown hair without freckles, although she dyes her hair red haha. ooo and me, my sister, and my dad all had very blonde hair as kids, but for all of us its gotten darker and has turned into different shades of brown as we get older. its fairly common for hair to get darker as you age, i think.
your freckles could have come from your asian heritage as well though.

haha, I obviously know close to nothing of being Irish, if you know what I mean LOL. XD I still wonder where this English came from though, since my grandma just totally said that out of the blue one day...
