Okay, with my English name, Erica, it has Spanish roots, and I found out it means an exotic peculiar flower. XD Which is suiting, since most people think I'm so weird and odd (and I love it that way, I wouldn't have it any other way!).
However, my chinese name Xian means first, because I am my parents' first born child. At least it wasn't some common name meaning beauty or genius or something like that (so many Chinese children are named that). Yet at the same time, it's not as complex as my cousin's full name...most people can't even read his name! LOL (you can tell his father the professor named him on that one )

it's interesting to see the meanings of different people's names
My name is Virginia
It is of Latin origin, and its meaning is maiden or Virgin. The name was originally spelled Verginia, and was the feminine form of an ancient Roman clan name, Verginius. With time, its spelling changed due to its association with the Latin term "virgo", meaning "maiden". This meaning has been used for the name ever since. Popular in the US since the mid 19th century; the first child born in America was Virginia Dare, in 1597. The state of Virginia was named as homage to the Virgin Queen, Elizabeth I. Author Virginia Woolf; tennis player Virginia Wade.

My name is Beriwan. It has 2 meanings. It's the name of a flower, but it also means (and i'm kind of embarrassed about it) the girl who milks cows -___- .. so when someone asks me what it means, i just say it's a flower

My first name, Jennifer, means "Fair One" according to whatever baby name site I checked it on.
My middle name, Hiromi (Japanese), means "Widespread Beauty" or something. I don't know if I should trust the site I looked it up on, but I'm too lazy to ask my relatives.
My last name (also Japanese) means "Upstream"

My parents just picked it for the name, not the meaning though -- but I want it to have a good meaning >_<

Ariel: Of Hebrew origin, and its meaning is "Lion of God"
Marie: Variant of Mary (Latin) "Star of the Sea". Earliest English form of the name which was revived in the 19th century.
Marie is a part of my first name, like Ariel Marie, but we decided to use it as a middle name instead ^^
