Re: What is the meaning of your name?
Ariadna
Gender: Feminine
Usage: Spanish, Polish
Pronounced: ah-RYAHD-nah (Spanish, Polish)
Spanish and Polish form of Ariadne - (Greek Mythology) Means "most holy", composed of the Cretan Greek elements αρι (ari) "most" and αδνος (adnos) "holy". In Greek mythology, Ariadne was the daughter of King Minos. She fell in love with Theseus and helped him to escape the Labyrinth and the Minotaur, but was later abandoned by him. Eventually she married the god Dionysus...
She did not live a happily ever after...
Woah jee, thanks mom. Note: one should always look up the meaning before giving that name to their CHILD!!!
Fabiola-Zoe:
Fabiola -
Gender: Feminine
Usage: Italian, Spanish, French, German
Pronounced: fah-bee-O-lah (German)
Elaborated form of FABIA. This was the name of a 4th-century saint from Rome.
Fabia derived from the male Fabius:
Roman family name which was derived from Latin faba "bean". Quintus Fabius Maximus was the Roman general who used delaying tactics to halt the invasion of Hannibal in the 3rd century BC.
BEAN? WTH???
ZOE
Gender: Feminine
Usage: English, Greek, Ancient Greek
Other Scripts: Ζωη (Ancient Greek)
Pronounced: ZO-ee (English) [Mines pronounced zoEH - spanish].
Means "life" in Greek. From early times it was adopted by Hellenized Jews as a translation of EVE. It was borne by two early Christian saints, one martyred under emperor Hadrian, the other martyred under Diocletian. The name was common in the Byzantine Empire, being borne by a ruling empress of the 11th century. As an English name, Zoe has only been in use since the 19th century. It has generally been more common among Eastern Christians (in various spellings).
M-martyrd? ...I'm feeling really special right now...
Okay. My mother is not naming ANY of my children...
lol.

Re: What is the meaning of your name?
My name is Meagan Lynn... Meagan is a variation of Megan which is a Welsh diminutive of Margaret... which means "pearl." Lynn comes from an English surname that means "lake."
Although, I'm fairly certain my mum just picked it because it sounded pretty...

Re: What is the meaning of your name?
I'm Kristine, and it means christian, which feels kinda awkward 'cause I'm an agnostic... >< And the reason why I got that name is that my parents didn't want me to have an unusual name that stood out, so what did they do about it? They picked the name that 11000 Norwegians as well as me have (and since we're about 4.5 million people living here, that's quite a few), and thus made sure my sense of individuality was minimized... I will never EVER give my child a boring name like that. I will give him/her a unique name to go with his/her unique self!

Re: What is the meaning of your name?
Everyone has cool names ;_;
Mine's Karoline. In order to figure out what it meant, I had to spell it 'Caroline', and it said it meant 'beautiful woman'
....pssssssssh not true. xDD I'm a girl though xD
Here's what urbandictionary said:
1. A Norwegian spelling of the name Caroline, but less common and very cool looking.
2. An awesome person who can make her friend's laugh.
3. The name of a smart blonde, although it does take her a while with a few jokes.
But I'm not blonde ;_;

Re: What is the meaning of your name?
My name is Sarah~
[from behindthename.com]
Means "lady" or "princess" in Hebrew. This was the name of the wife of Abraham in the Old Testament. She became the mother of Isaac at the age of 90. Her name was originally שָׂרָי (Saray), but God changed it (see Genesis 17:15). In England, Sarah came into use after the Protestant Reformation.
According to my parents, I was named after Sarah [Abraham's wife] in the Bible~ =3
& my middle name is Hyunjee~
From Korean, hyun means virtuous & jee [or ji] means wisdom.
They basically made my middle name similar to my cousins' [dad's side] names.

Re: What is the meaning of your name?
ANNA f English, Italian, German, Dutch, Scandinavian, Finnish, Estonian, Greek, Hungarian, Polish, Russian, Czech, Slovak, Bulgarian, Icelandic, Catalan, Breton, Biblical
Latinate form of HANNAH... [more]
Other Scripts: Αννα (Greek), Анна (Russian, Bulgarian)
Pronounced: AN-a (English), AHN-nah (Italian, Dutch, Polish), AH-nah (German, Russian) [key]
Latinate form of HANNAH. The name appears briefly in the New Testament belonging to a prophetess who recognized Jesus as the Messiah. It was a popular name in the Byzantine Empire from an early date, and in the Middle Ages it became common among Western Christians due to veneration of Saint Anna (usually known as Saint Anne in English), the name traditionally assigned to the mother of the Virgin Mary. In the English-speaking world, this form came into general use in the 18th century, joining Ann and Anne.
The name was borne by several Russian royals, including an 18th-century empress of Russia. It was also the name of the main character in Leo Tolstoy's novel 'Anna Karenina' (1877), a woman forced to choose between her son and her lover.
