My name has no meaning. But it sounds ok I guess. The name book says it means new beginning, glorious day i think, but i dont believe it, it might be someone just wanted to write down

My name is Jessica, and there is actually a debate on what it means and where it came from.

One is the hebrew meaning, which means 'rich' 'gods blessing' or 'god's grace.' Ironically enough, I'm not christian, like the rest of my family.

Another one is, apparently that the name was made up by shakespeare. Jessica was the daughter of Shylock, the Jewish Merchant in 'The Merchant of Venice.'

And it is speculated that Shakespear got it from 'Yiska' which is, apparently, a minor role in the bible.
