New York City.
I'm hoping to go there for Spring Break. What are some highlights other then the Statue of Liberty & The Empire State Building? Does anyone know of cheap good hotels in that area of tourist attractions? I also hear the crime there's kinda hardcore.
Enlighten me!

i was just there you should definitely see a show on broadway if you can afford it and of course times square is a must. also if you are looking to get some good cheap shopping in, china town is the best! they have all these adorable fake coach prada and gucci bags in every stand fake tiffany jewelery and knockoff bape sweatshirts, everything and many other cute asian items for cheap and suprisingly the quality isnt too bad either! but if thats not really your style there are several H&Ms in manhattan with beautiful european fashion that is very cheap as well. also i really enjoyed seeing little italy(right next to chinatown) but that might just be cuz im italian and also they have great food there of course. and yeah of course there is crime but it really depends on what part of new york you are in...like, dont go to the bronx, or brooklyn or anything its really gangster there and i dont know of any hotels that are cheap i stayed at a friends, but from my experience it didnt seem like anything was cheap there -_- oh and i almost forgot, you should go to ground zero where the world trade center used to be, it just a huge crater now and they are in the process of building a new tower there but there is a really beautiful memorial they built right next to the fire station if you are interested

I second the trip to a Broadway show and Times Square (At night is the best. It's so much fun)
Btw, don't forget to bring a friend or two. Then it'll be a BLAST!!!

I would recomend you go to Times square, or the museum of natural history. I personally love the museum cause I'm a geek and love the whole aspect of it.

Uh about that post above, Brooklyn is not very ghetto I live here =.= Every place has its bad neighborhoods. Whatever you do, don't buy a I <3 New York shirt. If you do, don't wear it with a bunch of friends. Those shirts scream TOURIST, and uh *cough* tendency to make fun of them... the crime is also not hardcore either =.= Thats just stereotyping. and chinatown smells funny. (i'm allowed to say this because uh i'm a new yorker?) Times square is fine, museums are awesome, yes I cant think of anything more, nothing really special here. The shopping isnt great either. (I guess I'm just taking everything for granted, but really I can't seem to see whats so great about this place...) The most common area to shop would probably be 34th Street/Penn Station. Don't bother going to anywhere besides Manhattan, tehres nothing in the other boroughs.

I love the city! I'm a city person lol. I've been there a lot of times. Some of my fav places to go were chinatown and the wax museum. I've watched a lot of broadways umm..I watched Legally Blonde. I thought it was cute and there were some other ones I really liked. There's a lot of good places to eat. I don't really remember though. I haven't been there recently but just enjoy yourself. You'll have a lot of fun and be really carefull lol.
