HELP! country presentation what do you want to know?
okay,
first I don't know if this is in the right section, so sorry if it isn't in the right place.
Now I've a little problem, I'm going to Mongolia with the lions youth exchange club, and you've to make a presentation about your country.
and that is very hard for me.
because what is intresting to know and what not? and what I consider as normal it pretty weird in other country's so it's hard to pick out the right things.
what I wanted to tell about it the government, the royal family, drop (lycorise), other foods such as vla and the many hotchpotches (sp?) we have and about school system and that everybody is going by bike everywhere.
but is it intresting?
and what would you like to know about a country you don't know?

How about landmarks? Those are always interesting to see/hear about. Like, the oldest building in the country, and when it was built and for what purpose, etc. Or maybe museums and notable works housed there. And official languages. And the climate. And famous people who were born there. And stuff like that. XD I personally love hearing about a country's largest library, but that's because I'm a big nerd.

Maybe you can tell about typical Dutch celebrations, like Queensday/Sinterklaas? And ehm.. candy? Maybe you can take some typical Dutch candy with you, I think they'll like that The Deltawerken (don't know the English name xD) and things like polders, mills, tulips.. I think most is called now?

Re: HELP! country presentation what do you want to know?
Hmm, perhaps make some recommendations to places that'd be good to travel to if they ever plan like visiting? Try to make it not total-tourist-attraction though.
I say just add whatever you like about your country, even if it's boring or whatever to you, it probably won't be to the people you're presenting it to. Most likely they've never been there before so it's probably new and exciting to them. :]
