Haha, I didn't think so either. He's probably just made it up, or maybe he misunderstood the whole ad. I don't know exactly where he was, but I thought it sounded weird so I just had to ask. Next time I talk to him I'll tell him what you just said. :]

Re: Teach me about your country! :3
Well, I'm from Spain and I hope you know where is located, in the south of Europe, and we have mediterranean climate.
We have 4 official languages, Spanish, Catalan (Catalunya), Basco (Pais Basco/Euskadi) and Gallego (Galicia).
I think the most popular things for a foreigner when think about Spain are bullfightings, sevillanas, paella and sangria.
Well let me explain that there are a lot of people (me included) which don't like bullfighting because it's a way to kill bulls and mistreat the animals.
The paella, it's a popular food, specially in Valencia but there are a lot of good foods in here, better than paella.
And sangria is a drink, I like it so much and it's easy to get drunk with it.
About sevillanas, is a typical dance, specially in Sevilla, but every region has its own typical dance.
I hope that help you. ^^

- We english do not: know the queen or david beckham, everyone does not drink tea (though I do) and we don't have posh accents.

I did have more.. I'll add it on later
It's dead interesting learning about everyones country!

Haha, all SO true!
I'M FROM MANCHESTER!
Anyway... People sometimes think we all talk dead posh and drink tea at 3pm (like AmyLou said!) but we don't Be funny if we did! According to my friends I have a very posh accent X3 But that's because I live in a little town called Leigh and most people talk like this:
"Y'allreet mate, goin' dun shops fer abit"
Okay...maybe not THAT extreme, but some people do!!! (I don't and my friends laugh at me for it and call me very posh XD ... I also lurrrve tea!)
And I agree AmyLou D: We have a LOT of chavs round here Especially at my school! I'm in Sixth Form now... it's sorta the two year course you do before Uni, do you have that in other countries? ^_^ We get to wear our own clothes and most people who used to be big chavs have grown out of that stage now XD
I guess Fish 'n' Chips would be proper English food lol! Mmm...
And omg yes, we are so lazy with languages O.o I learnt French at school for four years but they hardly taught us ANYTHING, just silly phrases like "I helped my dad wash the car" I mean, seriously, WHEN will I EVER use that when I go to France!? XD
I can't think of anything else right now This is a really cool thread! Very interesting! ^_^

Sorta looks like that Very tasty!
My family don't have it every Sunday, but we do every so often

Re: Teach me about your country! :3
Hey! I am from India and I don’t know where to start from since it is full of diversities. I am in the Northern part of India and the temperature remains cool over here, different from most of India. Not even I can bear the heat of other places. My place is cool and serene and that is why there are so many tourists round the year, during summer to escape the heat and during winter to enjoy snow. Yeah there are many foreigners who have settled here, may be that is why we people don’t stare at them like in other places.
Even though this is a small city but you get everything that you need.
About the rest of India, well we have so many cultures at one place that it would be too difficult to explain it all. Not even ordinary Indians can discover all of India at once. Maybe that is why there are so many myths about India.
I think that many people think about India as a backward country (may be I am wrong) but you need to take a better look at economic stats to get a better picture.
I am very proud to be Indian.
Ahh…I think I have not exactly said much about India but just come up with questions, then I’ll be able to help you (and myself).
