MASSIVE Gmarket tutorial! [IMG HEAVY] everything you need to know!!~

Well, Last time I posted a tutorial on how to buy off Gmarket.
With all data that got lost.. the tutorial was gone too. Till today!!!

I’ve made it even bigger and I tried to put in the questions that got asked.
If you have a question, just drop it and i’ll do my best to help you.
But please keep in mind I don’t know everything ^__^

Also, at the end of this tutorial I shall put some reviews up and some of my
Favo stores. (since those got removed too)

What is Gmarket?
Well, you can compair Gmarket with an ebay site with almost only buy now actions.
It’s mostly in Korean, but they have an english site too to make it a bit more easy.

Why Gmarket?
If you want things cheap with supergood quality, you wil looooove Gmarket. You can buy tees for only 5 usd and the quality is great. I have a pair of jeans for a year now and it is this like I just bought it. Compair this to a wholesale jeans I have with loose stitches and elastic that got bad after wearing it for only 5 times.... yet the price was the same.

Step 1. Searching the site + Signing up.

My PM box was almost full with questions and comments from people who
Wanted to know how in earth I could find such awsome things. Well, let me tell you... It’s kinda easy.

Go to: global.gmarket.co.kr or gmarket.co.kr.
(this tutorial if for Global.gmarket.co.kr!!!)

You’ll get this page:


Firts off, You have to make a ID. If you are searching the website it can happen
That your PC can’t handle all the moving pics and disconnect of the internet. In this
Case, if you havn’t added the item to your wishlist.. it’s gone.


Go to register/log in.

Follow the steps.


1. Enter your chosen ID and password.
2. Enter your personal info.
3. If you are from Korea and have a Korean social number, add it here. If not leave it blank.
4. Enter your email for updates about your order here and when you want to reviece Emails about special offers. (big recommandation)

So, now you have your Gmarket ID. You can use it on both sites!

Now you are ready to search some cool and cute items.

You can seach items by clicking the top links and after that clicking the catagory the item falls into. But you can also search by giving search words. Like if you want something with Leopard print.


Type it in and press search.


Here are the items. Thje site contains many things with leopard print and they are listed with best selling items first.

Step 2. Buying and seller info.

Once you have found an item you like there are a few things you have to check first. Like: reputation seller, shipping in korea and so on.




First you see the item picture, then the Korean name, then the WON price and USD, the shipping IN Korea (to Gmarket), then Discounts/gifts and all and at last you see the sellers feedback.

The top link is a good seller. His items are high reviewed. Teh second one is a new/bad seller. New sellers don’t have much feedback. Because of this people don’t buy much of them. HOWEVER! It doesn’t mean that the seller is bad!!!

I found an item and a good seller! What now??

Well, first you need to know some more things about the buying page.


1. Price item.
2. Extra discount you can get (you have to select it!!)
3. Gstamps. You collect Gstamps along the way. You can trade these for coupons on selected items by Gmarket!
4. Place of seller.
5. Delivery fee WITHIN Korea to Gmarket.
6. Amount of items you want of selected item.
7. If this box is checked it means that the item is only being sold within Korea! If not checked you can order it.
8. Item pick.
9. Optional items. Can be anything.

I choose this item:


The code is: A394. In grey.
(if you like this item (in grey!!), please contact me. I have it on sale. It’s to small for my hips)


Look it up in the list. There it is!

However, how do I know wich on the grey one is??

it’s sold out in grey.. so I go for black. Remember the pick! It’s the first on A394! If you press buy now you can’t add it into your wishlist. I always add it into my cart so I can order it later or add it to my wishlist.

BUUUUUT!
What if I can find the code since the page is all in Korea?? I like this item!


Well, don’t stress out yet!

Some pages have a clicking option. You can click on the items for a better view.
In msot of these links you can find the item name/code.


See? It’s called french kiss.

Add the link into google again and you can see the spot of the item like described above here!


The (+9.000) means that this item is 9.000won higher than the page price says. Loads of Gmarket things are like this. Instead of making new pages for each item, most sellers add everything on one page.

If you can’t find the name you can always contact Gmarket or the seller to ask for the info

Step 3. Placing order, payments and shipping.

Once you have found everything you like, It’s time to check out.


This is the total invoice of the item. It’s within Korea for the black dress since It won’t be shipped out Korea (Used a shoppingservice, more aobut this later!!)

For some items the fee is 2500WON for Korea shipping. You have to pay this price to get the items to Gmarket!

You can pay on different ways.


(for non korean countries)
1. Gaccount cash. Money that got refunded, money that you won...
2. Paypal. (creditcard/debitcard/linked to bank)
3. Non Korean creditcard.

Once you paid, your items will be orderd with each seller.
Here you can see how it works:


Please note, Gmarket does NOT open the packages they recieve. If you buy from 1 seller they will use that box to ship. If you order of multiple sellers they will add all the boxes into 1 big box and then ship it out.

Also, you pay for an estimate shipping (EMS price first) If Gmarket add all the boxes into 1 they weight the package and then tell you if you have to pay more of if you get refunded.

The rule for this is:
Actual shipping is more then 3.000 won then you paid for, you have to pay this.
(example: you paid 19.000 for shipping but shipping is actually 25.000 won you have to pay 6.000 won to Gmarket.)

Actual shipping is less then 3.000 won you paid for, they will ignore this.
(example: You paid 19.000 for shipping but actual shipping is 21.000 won, you don’t need to pay)

BUT!
This also counts if you paid more then actual shipping!

Actual shipping is more then 3.000 won less then you paid for, they will refund this!
(example: you paid 19.000 but actual shipping is 10.000 they will refund you 9.000 won)
(refunds will be paid into Gcash!!!!!!!!)

Actual shipping is not more then 3.000 won less then you paid for, they won’t refund.
(example: you paid 19.000 but actual shipping is 18.000 they won’t refund you 1.000. basicly this is not even 0.80 USD!)

Gmarket ships with EMS to almost each city.
Most sites don’t ship to Italy. This is because of the customs in this country. They are so strickt, items can be hold over 4 weeks by them!
(want to know to wich country they ship?? I’ll post a link up at the end of this tutorial)

Also, Please check your country rules about EMS!!!
I live in the Netherlands and they hold back ALL EMS packages and give you a €17 fee on top of custom duties!!!!!! Gmarket can’t do anything about this!

Step 4. Once your order is shipped out by Gmarket.

Once your order has been shipped out, Gmarket sends you an email about this update.

You can also find the information back in your Gmarket account.


1. Your Gaccount. All giftscerificates, Gcash, Gstamps and Gmiles will be here.
2. All info aobut your orders can be foudn here.
3. To buy giftcertificates.
4. Shopping list of the day.

Go to order info and press overseas order. You’ll get this page:

1. Shipment number and Order number.
2. Item you orderd (link to the page)
3. Staus of item shipped to Gmarket.
4. Status on shipping overseas.

Press tracking to see where your package is right now!


1. Shipping from Gmarket.
2. Got stuck at Dutch customs (because it’s EMS) (I freaking paid 40 euro to get it!)
3. I wasn’t home the day it got in.
4. I recieved the package.

Once you recieved your package, you can leave a feedback about your order.
(I never knew this untill today! I even learned by making this tutorial XD)


By leaving a feedback you earn mileages and Gcounts!!

I did. The sizes are true and they look 100% like the picture.
Most sellers send them in plastic bags. However, I did had a seller who shipped them in a box ^__^
