thats a very pretty name. it does sound common, but i never hear it anywhere. melvin is funny nickname, lol.
my real name is mary, yes a very common name as well, yet i dont know anyone else named mary. i guess it more of a older name that isnt used as often. i like my name cause its easy to say, everyone knows it. no one else has it, so when people say "you know mary" they dont need to go "mary who, whats her last name" cause im like one of the only marys in my school. lol im such a dork. so many things that are good about my name.

you pronouce it as " chel-le-da" or "shel-le-da".
