I'm suprised myself...I never would have thought that I would wanna get into icky things like eyeballs. First, it started out as getting tired of my glasses and wanting contacts. I freaked out at first with having to touch and grab things out of them...but after awhile you get used to it.
THEN I started taking classes on neurology and all that stuff, and I did well in them and enjoyed learning about the complexities of the mind.
THEN I took Perception and fell in love with the visual system, haha! Maaaan, it's not going to be easy getting into eyeball school >__< But I still got two years yay! And the sound of being a "Doctor" is just so...cool.

Erm, isnt the stereotype about MALE asian being good at math, and FEMALE asians at science?
I'm sure everyone at some point felt pressured by stereotypes and friends fulfilling that stereotype. Fortunetly, my friends were nerds and gave me that competitive push to strive.

wtf i have an F- in PE ;___________________; my teacher is on crack and marks me absent all the time when im not........ ive only missed one day (which i made up after school) and im always dressed out! i tried explaining it to her, but shes just like "well if i mark you absent then that means you are late to class or not in the right place, etc." but im always on timme and in my corrrect spot. ive seriously gotta talk to her tommorow. this really sucks ive been working so hard in all my classes (like i usually do; im a good student :< ) so i have all As except for a totally random F- in PE now.. if all else fails, i can bring it up to an A by going to the fitness center everyday after school for pretty much the rest of the year. which, admittedly, isnt thaaat bad, but it still sucks.
/rant
also im dreading next year a bit... im taking the three hardest AP classes my school offers. i was just going to take AP us history and AP composition, but i decided to take AP chemistry as well. i hope i made the right choice : \ at least i dont have to take PE anymoreeee *so happy!*

hehehe...if you make it competitive like that then it is immature sorta like a high school thing.
In my case I'm only curious to know because I feel like the only underachiever in class...like everyone else is doing better than me and actually understanding the material while I'm just sitting there (and by better I mean like >C-)
You know everyone is ravenously taking notes and im there wondering I should be writing this stuff down??

i didn't take the european history exam so i don't know how hard that one is.....which exams are you taking? in HS i took world history, psych, both english exams, US history, & us gov't and passed them all... i think the english exams are pretty easy if you just know your literary devices and all of that...history ones i had to study quite a bit for though, & i am a history major :x they're tough! mostly just because they can ask about ANYTHING in the entirety of the history of whatever exam you're taking...so like the world history exam they can ask anything in the history of the world? wtf, it's pretty ridic

I never understood the point of AP classes. What's the point of putting yourself in a tougher class anyway? I mean, is it supposed to get you into college more easily or what? Cause I never took an AP class in my life '__'

^ It looks good on the college application? lol; That's all I know haha; I guess it means you'll have a higher chance of getting accepted then say, a student who had regular courses. It might show that you work to achieve and strive to be the best you can and look for challenges? *shrugs*

and don't they sometimes count for college credit if you take a test after?
I say that's a good deal

If you take an AP class, then you wouldn't have to take that class again in college since it will count as college credit. Like say...you plan on taking AP U.S. History in your junior or senior year in high school. If you do well in that class, it will count as college credit for college U.S. History. Then you won't have to take that class once you step into the world of college-ism...since you're already doing college work at a high school level, lol. xD.
That's what AP is all about.
Plus it looks good on your transcript too.
Especially if you plan on going to universities out-of-state.
Otherwise...if you don't want to take AP classes, just go to community college first after high school and take all of your general subjects there. So that once you get to uni, you can take the major of your dreams without all the hassles of the general English, Math, Science, etc. subjects.
*shrug*
at least that's what my dad and some of the students told me.

i took a bunch of history exams but because i am a history major i had to retake the classes anyway. but i did learn a lot of valuable things! the exams were much harder than actually taking classes (in the case of history).
also i just went to a community college anyway lawl
but yeah, the AP exams don't count toward your major ie english exams don't count for english majors etc

That sucks..I hate it when people specially teachers of subjects like PE take themselves too seriously! I mean its PE!! Hope it works out for you, though the extra incentive to work out after school could actually be a good thing

my school stresses AP classes like no other. supposively, colleges will choose a student who took the more difficult courses and got Cs and Bs over the student who got straight As by taking regular classes. and since i dont know what college i want to go to, or if it will be difficult to get into or not, i think its best to keep my options open by pursuing many AP courses and gaining a "competitive edge" as my school calls it >.>; also, i dont see the point of myself taking a regular english or history class, etc. because those classes would probably be too easy for me and i wouldnt learn nearly as much imo. id rather challenge myself and learn as much as i can than take the easy path (for me). another thing is college credits, but im not totally sure what those do...

i think european history might be the world history test..? i dont know, but the subject or SAT2 test for AP euro/sophmore year history is called world history. with AP tests, this year im taking euro, next year i should be taking the chemistry, english/composition, and us history ones and my senior year i plan on taking psych, us government/economics, and english lit or whatever it is.
