World is going to end?

Hey have you all been hearing about how these guys are making something to try and re-create the big bang? I heard the world was supposed to end at 8:30 this morning, lol.

However, they say it'll take from 2-4 years for the affects to start to show so I'm freaking out a bit. o_O

Sorry if those facts aren't right, I just heard about it today and read a bit about it in the paper. XD

I heard about that this morning too. Why would they create something that would end the world? The machine they built is suppose to analyse matter and atoms, stuff like that. I was reading about it on msnbc.com

I knew it was research about molecules & how the universe began but I don't think they said anything about being dangerous .. they did say that by chance they could create a small black hole like the size of a penny o.O

My friend was panicking about that at school this morning O.o she was basically crying and saying to us "If the black hole comes, come to my form room and we'll die together!"

It was turned on, but it won't start reacting and actually starting for the next few weeks, plus it's a tiny chance the black hole could really be made...

And... It will take like 3-9 months just for the data to be assessed and released in public format... I watched this show on BBC not long ago about it, This whole LHC thing was started 18 years ago lol, but took so long to finish... Any ways, We will live lol...

But it is so interesting!!!!! What happens if we find a new dimension where anime characters live and we can join dimensions and like hang around with anime characters!!! I'm kidding... Well It would be cool, like you know, yer...

Man, has anyone seen pictures of the Large Hadron Collider? I think it's be the most beautiful piece of modern technology to ever potentially destroy our planet ;D

Do you guys really think that the world will end on December 21, 2012? I thought that the Jewish said that the world was suppose to end a couple years ago, or that their prophet was suppose to save them a couple years ago. I can't remember exactly which one it was, but I remember that my friend Sami who was Jewish told me that.

Honestly, I don't think so.
But, that won't stop me from having crazy memorable times on the 21st. I mean, make the best of the day anyway

Plus, there have been other "Apocalypse" predictions that have already past. I think the only ones that are eerily accurate have been Nostradamus'

I read articles on it too. I suppose right now everything is up in the air, lots of rumors and hearsay, but the angle of the story that *I* received was that the scientists that are freaking out about the "doomsday" effect have very little credibility in the subject of physics anyhow.

Our world could go up in flames at any time, regardless of a black hole on Earth. We stand the chance of all sorts of disasters, natural and manmade, from the Earth itself or from outer space. So it's really nothing to get hyped about.

As for 2012, it *is* an amusing coincidence that the effects of a black hole created now would not affect the world until that particular year. However, the Mayan calendar stopping in 2012 doesn't mean the end of the world either. There are also rumors that the Mayans and Aztecs stopped the calendar not because of an ending, but because of a beginning. A global awakening. *Shrugs* But who really knows? If we die, we die. Might die before that anyways.

(Mind you what I mentioned to someone on the subject is, perhaps they stopped the calendar because they ran out of stuff to write on! Or the guy counting it out got too tired to continue, and thought he'd be poetic by stopping on the winter solstice. You never know!)

I've done some reading on it and one of the articles I read says there is a 1 in 50 million chance of the Collider forming a blackhole...so almost nil!
They turned it on for the first time yesterday at 10am and they are properly using it for the first time on October 21st methinks.

And although I don't know the details, its not two men firing cannons at each other >.< lol! Its a massive cylinder thing underground. It has a circumfrence of 27km. So pretty darn big!

Although its all rather worrying, hopefully some good will come out of it. Its going to help scientists understand atoms and stuff better. And I've heard it could even lead to a cure for cancer? Among lots of other things.

But I don't think we really need to worry about it. I never heard that it would take 4 years for the blackhole to devooour us. I thought it would be almost instant. But yeah, we won't know about it anyway so we can't worry about it!

Oh yeah, even if they create a black hole, it's going to be a micro one, and it's simply going to dissapear.

I mean, this is high tech science. Don't people realise we haven't done anything major as a species since landing on the moon? We (our generation) suck. Instead of cheering this as an achievement, people are going to churches to pray for God to protected them during the experiment, and others are threatening the scientists because they think they're gonna die.

Nobody reacted to the moon landing by going:

WHAT? Send a ship into outer space? the ALIENS WILL EAT US!!!!!

Yet plenty of people in our generation now believe the moon landing was faked. Despite an enourmous amount of evidence that it did. And NO good evidence that it didn't.
