Have you already been to Japan? Where did you go? What did you do? What did you like best? Do you have any pics you'd like to post up for us?!
Just interested to see what kind of experience people had there!!!

I was umm......I think 19? yeah...19 =)
And don't worry about your sis...I'm sure she'll be really happy there no matter where she's living!!! If worst comes to worst and she can't find a apartment near her school (though some schools have "dorm" available near the campus...)...she could always find those "inns" that all the foreigners live in however long they need (gosh I can't remember the name of them!! they're sooo cool. I'll post up the website when I remember it).
Usually students or people travelling country to country rent the rooms for however long you want- no binding contracts n'such. You can bring all your belongings n'stff.... It's kinda like a frathouse but you make friends from all over the world LoL
they're usually run by Japanese people...
anyone know what I'm talking about?? those inn thingies..LOL
I can't remember what they're called...I used to have this really good website that has a listing of all of them available in Japan....I must find it for you...

umm...I don't quite remember how long it took cuz you literally are a day ahead when you go there LOL
it was close to 20something hours cuz I had a like...5 hour layover at an airport in the middle of the US at one point. It was such a long trip >.<
something funny...I left on a saturday morning, but when I got there it was sunday night, there.
And when I left there on a saturday morning, I got back Friday night LOL so I went back in time....the time change is a little weird, but I got lucky and didn't suffer any jetlag so I was completely energized when I got there!

there was lots of color..all the signs and buildings and clothes. It was PACKED during the day in the streets. those pics I took where in the morning when people were just coming out for work. That's probably why you dont' see much color..work clothes =P
but later in the day I saw all these school children and teenagers walking around in their adorable clothes.
That's why I said next time I got back I wanna focus on taking pics of just the fashion- I've already got the touristy-type pics outta the way hahah
oh yeah..and it was so clean O_O the streets and metro were just so clean LoL
the metro is AWESOME...the most awesome I've ever seen XD XD

Most people say you should rly go with some kind of Japanese language knowings. So basic stuff is important. I am pretty sure that she knows some Japanese. XD, it would almost be impossiable to go there without speaking Japanese.
Though if you go to Korea im sure you could get by without speaking korean. A lot of my penpals have english class everyday.
