Some ppl do get offended by ajumma/ajusshi... lol... I try calling my friend ajusshi and he gets mad, LOL. Oppa and unyi sounds so young. :P There's no real equivalent words in English to exactly translate ajumma and ajusshi.

I thought ajumma and ajusshi would be apporpiate for someone over 30..

I've just started watching Goong - Princess hours, and it's caught me totally. I've never seen a better drama. Right now I'm on episode 11 (I have to wait till wednesday or thursday for the twelth), and I can only hope that it will turn out good.. that the whole serie will turn out good, because I'm jkhdfk<zbcjbef addicted now. =_= aiya, Hyo-rin kinda pisses me off. So does Hwa-Yong (Yul's mom). ^^
does anyone have a tip of a Kdrama that contains jealousy, love and such things? -bambieyes-

The site you must be using might be a little odd...
Would you ask a lady or man what their age was in real life? LOL, they would be offended! Trust me, I've asked ... women are offended... haha.
It really depends on who you're talking to who you use ajumma and ajusshi to. Might be appropriate for an older lady, or for someone who's married, or someone who has kids. Again, it depends. :F

Omgawd..they told me it was normal to ask somebody how old they were to see if you should treat them as your senior since. You always have to treat you elders with respect...I rember one drama were a girl slapped her mother in law and like people were outraged and MBC or KBS or something got a fine..0.o

I think that's pretty much every drama
I've seen...
Full House, Winter Sonata, Hotelier, Secret, My Lovely Sam-soon, A Prince's First Love, Jewel in the Palace/Dae Jang Geum, Rooftop Room Cat, Super Rookie...
maybe some more? I can't remember right now...
Movies...
My Sassy Girl, Windstruck, Guns & Talks, Ditto, Il Mare, The Host, Welcome to Dongmakgol, My Scary Girl...
Full House is my absolute favorite drama. I love it. But I think it's impossible to find one I would completely dislike.
And My Sassy Girl is my favorite movie ever. You can't go wrong with My Sassy Girl.
I've wanted to watch Goong for the longest time. I really need to do that.

LOL... that's so unrealistic.
Women, when I ask, get OFFENDED when I ask them how old they are... especially Japanese... they say it's a secret.
When I figure out what to use, I go by how they look. It's really situation by situation basis.
Of course you have to treat elders with respect, it's Confucianism in Korean society. But again, it really depends on the lady/man you're talking to. Some will like unyi, ajumma, etcetera.

So thats why Kim Sam Soon didn't want to tell her age...xD But I'll just guess to see if they're my senior or not this is what happens when you learn korean from dramas..

Girls, tell me: what do you think of OVER THE RAINBOW?
Me and my mom went to the Korean store to buy a drama, and I picked that one out... I wanted My Lovely Sam-Soon, but my Great-Auntie already has it.... she's a KDrama FREAK, I swear! XDD
We almost got Goong, but he didn't have all the disks... we buy the burned ones cause we're too cheap to buy box set yet. Stairway to Heaven, however... that's definitely going to find a special place on my shelf one day. <3

AWESOME. post #777. <3

^ Over The Rainbow... Hm, I enjoyed it - GREAT music (definitely download the soundtrack) and dancing. The actors are cuute - I really liked HwanHee (Rex) in it. ^^ As for the story, I was a bit bored during the beginning to middle episodes, but the last episodes were good. Exccept for the fact that I hated the ending - too sudden AND not what I thought was right.
But you should enjoy it, it's a pretty good drama. =)

I get confused when I hear that... I told my friend that we bought OTR too, and he said the same thing, how the beginning was slow in the first 5 episodes... I got into it like, as soon as it started? But I was absolutely HOOKED as soon as they started dancing. <3 I LOVE Hee-Soo SOOOO much! She's so inspiring... and-- I want to learn NIKE now! My boyfriend can almost do it! Hee-Soo is so cool that she can do it.. o////o and she's SO pretty! HAHA. I can rave about her a lot...
Oh yeah. I'm only on episode 4. My mom made it to like, the end, but she didn't realize that there were more than one episode on each disk, so now she has to start over cause she accidentally skipped half of the drama XDD
