I guess maybe no one is really interested in this thread lately?ㅋㅋ

But I thought that I would share something... It's not really anything important, but a little bit of humor (although it's not like a "joke" haha)

닥쳐 = Dahk-Ch'yuh (meaning "Shut up!" lol)
닭쳐 = Dahk-Ch'yuh (same pronounciation?? buuuuut...)

닭 means chicken, yet it is pronounced like 닥 in this situation
and 쳐 means to strike or hit.

So this phrase of 닭쳐 can mean "chicken hit."
Written it would be obvious that it is not the same thing, but because they have the same pronounciation, it's kind of humorous when being spoken...ㅋㅋ

With one of my friends in my school I have a joke.. So I say "chicken hit" to him (in English) if I want him to shut up..ㅋㅋㅋ yeah... this is my lame knowledge for you people...

Im a half korean living in korea..for 16 years now.
WITH A KOREAN MOM, AND SISTER ..WHO PARTIALLY SPEAKS KOREAN.

AND I STILL DONT KNOW CRAP ABOUT READING/WRITING.

I feel pathetic.

my mom never tried to teach us, and my sister wanted to learn so she did. XD

I go to an international school, and they required all the kids who didnt know crap to do lessons..but I would always cry when they would force me to speak in korean when I didnt want too..so they just gave up.

LOL. xD

annyonghaseyo!! me again, I'ven't been on this thread for ages, but i"m learning korean, AGAIN!! well trying to atleast, I know the alphabet but that's it,
so does anyone knows a link with everyday words and verbs and such which I can learn?
and does anyone know where to download a korean langauge pack? I want to write korean (so I can ask my penpals if my grammer is right and that they can help me) and maybe some people on this thread can help me, but I can seem to get my word and such in Korean

i need to learn korean. my husband is korean and japanese, but speaks korean.
it's complex when you have to pronounce certain words though

I've made up my own plan for a week by week learning of korean.
haha!
Its just some fun things so that I can learn little by little.
Like...last week was the Three Little Bears song.
This week was the kkae bi kkae bi game.
Next week I'm doing colors.
And so on.
I'm so excited!!!

a lot of korean lessons, helps with grammer and just sentences you can use in everyday life

*edit* I've bought the lonelyplanet phrase book for korean, there is some stuff about grammar in it, if anyone is intresting I can make scans and post them up here
