^ I understand what you guys mean, but it's all the same, literally. Korean short hairstyles are also more about volume, not just about being long.

Korean hairstylists share their styles with Japanese hairstylists. Trust me I know. My aunt is a hairstylist for celebrities in Japan. She tells me this stuff whenever she does my hair when I visit her.

Weird!

I find that this is a really popular Japanese hair cut for short hair:

Or some kind of variant of this hair style. :~ It's been lasting for a couple of years now.

Only volume that some Korean hairstylists use are perms and more perms.

haha YEAH RIGHT.
Asian hair in general are round hair follicles, resulting in thicker hair than the oval-shaped Caucasian hair follicles or the nappy African hair follicles.

I have thick hair and it's hard to manage sometimes.

Korean and Japanese hair styles vary. It's like saying that their fashion sense is the same. Although they are similar, they aren't the same.

all asian hairstyles are the same no matter what country.
Well, sometimes, but not always.

I mean, of course there's the wavy+bangs/without bangs or the straight+bangs/without bangs look that is everywhere. Not just in Asia either. It's just a regular hairstyle that most people around the world likes. But there's also some hairstyle that is much more popular in Korea than in Japan. For example, the short bob+thick bangs is really popular in Korea. I don't see many people in Japan with a bob.

Wish I could get a long hair hairstyle since my hair is uber long right now and it would be cool to get it styled for a change.. Usually go to the salon for a complete once a year and trim my own bangs every so often. So as a result, I usually get a short haircut so that it could last another full year.. >.<
