I would say that Korean Dramas are the #1 reason why I got into korean culture. I love how they have really goodlookiing actors, beautifyl, stylish clothes, but with an interesting/fictioonal plotline that is based on everyday life.
Ofcourse I know that not all koreans look and live like in the dramas with its just sooo cool! =D

My sister used to listen to SES when we were in Elementary school, so I got into it a little bit. Me and my friends listened to them during Middle School a lot too, and I started watching shows like REVOLUTION, where I found 1TYM and S, and even Se7en!,... but I didn't get into him until about 3 or 4 years ago? Haha ^^;

I always thought the Korean alphabet looked cool from when I first started seeing it on my Hello Kitty sticker sheets... I started as one of those people who didn't know the existence of anything but manga, anime and kawaii fashion from Japan, in all of Asia, so I decided to come on this forum to become educated So I looked in the Korean section and discovered all sorts of Korean wonders <3

i first started listenig to japanese music then i heard boa's jpop n she was korean so yea n i was like into all the asian hair an make-up n stuff n i usta think it was probly jus japanese had all cute stuff but soon realised korean stuff was pretty interesting too its all so cute and they hav gr8 fashion to since im like fashion obsessed lol

Many of my friends are korean.
I'm not necessarily immersed in the culture, but I've got enough knowledge to pass as a korean kid who happened to grow up in the states.

plus, I like to perpetuate the whole "Korea vs. Japan" debate among my friends, so I gotta stick to my roots :P

oh and, korean variety shows annoy me. Apparently showing a re-play 4+ times is the only way one can re-play something in korean TV

Winter Sonata was my first drama after my drama fanatic friend coaxed me into watching it. It was really really good.. until she ruined the ending for me.. and until I couldn't stand the melodrama. So I never finished it. So I was flipping TV channels one day in Taiwan (dubbed) and came across a really funny episode of Goong. That got me hooked for most of the summer! but i never finished that either.. because I wasn't used to watching so much crying + dragging stuff. UNTIL my parents bought me my first drama that I wanted to watch completely: My Sassy Girl Chun Hyang/ Delightful Girl Chun Hyang. Occasionally sad, more hilarious scenes.. it evened out. After that, I pretty much dived into drama-craze. Korean, then a little Japanese.. last summer it was all Taiwanese drama... back to watching KOREAN. =) But for some reason I can't stand some new releases-- going back to watch the ones from 2004. It's great! & I kinda just became interested in Korean music after that..

One day, instead of doing our French work on the computer, my friend showed me Super Junior and I was just like...woah...
so pretty much...cha.

I am actually not asian at all...kinda weird since this is an "asiajam" forum hhaha
But I am completely fashion-obsessed, and I LOVE clothes with bows/buttons etc, on them...and one time I was looking online, and I discovered that a ton of asian people like this style..so I compltetly fell in love with their fashion sense, and I order off of them to buy my clothing now hahahaha

My mom is half-Chinese half-Filipino, so I was already exposed to asian culture. I was initially obsessed with Japanese culture and then my friend introduced me to DBSK and I was like O_O <3
Then another friend showed me Full House and I watched the entire series.

Then I watched My Girl with Lee. Dong. Wook. <3 <3 <3 (he's *too* amazing)

So, yeah, I am obsessed with Korean culture now, even more than Japanese.
Plus, Korean looks easier to read than Japanese. hehe.

I'll always have a soft spot for Korean culture, but its all about Japan for me!

I guess it started when I entered high school in 9th grade. A large portion of my school is made up of international students and a good chunk of them are from Korea. SO everyonce in a while I'll talk to some of the students and they'll teach me some korean or something and it just took off from there. I just wished we had some good-looking international students though *sigh* I'd follow them to every class then LOL

I think all the cute ones like to stay in Asia T_T
