How did YOU get into Korean stuff ... hmm?? ^^
Someone suggested this in my favorite thread... The cute Korean boys thread! And I thought~ Hey! What a good idea!
So how'd you get into Korean culture and entertainment and all that good stuff?
As for me, it was an accident. I turned on the TV to the Asian channel (probably to be amused at news in another language) and a Korean drama was on! Which happened to be Goong/Palace, episode 7, in a very amusing part. It had me laughing, AND had subtitles, and I decided to watch it when it came on the next night! I ended up watching the entire rest of it as it played out on TV! I watched the drama that replaced it, and so on.
I would download the soundtracks, which got me into Korean music, so then I started listening to K-pop too. Now it's ALL I listen to.
It's unbelievable how much Korean has changed my life, seriously - it's given me a passion and extremely obsessive interests (in a good way!). I've never been more interested in anything as much as this. I get excited when I hear ANYTHING Korean mentioned! All because I turned to the Asian channel rather than, I don't know, Animal Planet or something. xD
I wouldn't even be here on AsiaJam if it wasn't for that incident. :O Because I would never have been exposed to the awesomeness of Asian fashion! Korea was just another country, Asia was just another continent. Catching that Korean drama was FATE!

I was always into Japanese stuff since I was six.
Then when I was younger and got the internet I noticed a lot of the asian
stuff I liked is not just Japanese or Chinese, it's Korean.
I was like OH SNAP THAT'S CUTE SHYT.
And the rest is history. :3

How did i?
Well, it started while I was already into Anime and at the time, Taiwanese dramas. I would see (on youtube) a link for episodes of "The Vineyard Man." I clicked one for like episode 9 or something, and that's when I decided I should try it. I did, and since then Ive been HOOKED! Now I watch Korean, Japanese, and sometimes Taiwanese dramas all the time. Yays.

DUDE that's what happened to me sorta.
My friend told me to watch a Korean drama because it had cute guys on.
But I didn't watch it and ended up watching Goong (dunno what epi) but when I heard the music in that episode which was by HowL featuring J, I loved it and got into Korean music
Actually I had listen to Korean music (techno-ish pop) before, but didn't really get into it until HowL (who has an amazing voice)
then came the boy bands<--------CHYEAH!

The Korean boyband... Oh-so much better than the Japanese...
They're so cute- They motivate me to learn the language..
So yeah, i'm a great example of how a chick can loose her mind looking at cute boys all day...

Winter Sonata!
It was the first kdrama I've everwatched, and I fell in love with the soundtrack. I looked into other kdramas that were recommended by friends and forums, and found even more that I liked.

^ "I ve always been into asian stuff as im chinese but its always kinda been chinese stuff or japanese music"
That's basically the same for me as well =p. I was already hooked onto Japanese culture and I had some misc Korean songs in my folder but I never really took any notice. But then when I started college, the friends around me are obsessed with Korean things and it got me curious. I must of found out about Super Junior on a forum and then I started watching the Full House series xp And then another friend reccommended me some Kdramas. It even got my mum watching them. I'm more into the music as well and moving more away from Jrock which kind of scares me =x But I can't seem to help it.

My brother showed me this Korean gameshow called X-Man. It was so funny so I went online to find more episodes. That show invites celebrities and I was interested in some celebs, so I went searching for more info.. etc.

HAHA. Well I got into Korean music! Because of youtube. I was all into Se7en at first, then because of my love for Rock music I started listening to The Trax and Seo Taiji. Then Seo Taji and Boys, therefore my love for H.O.T., Jinusean, and etc etc. ~ Then I started watching KDRAMAS -- which I'm addicted to noww. Ah~ and gameshows hahaha.

I have a Korean girl in my class. She had like, these cute pencil cases and drawings an stuff!
For one project she used these cuuuute pictures from the internet!
So then I was asked her, "Where'd you get the KAYOOT piccys?!"
She sent me some random site over msn, it was a NAVER forum me thinks.
And there were these girls posing cute pictures and all these cute cartoons posted up. And I thought that Korean writing looked adorable!
So...here I am. x3 Obsessed with Korean hairstyles & Dramas. ahahaha.
