Default X Japan

Have you ever heard of them? I grew up with my older brother playing their songs on guitar and singing their stuff. I remember how sad he was when Hide died.

So, do you like X Japan? What Japanese rock bands do you like? Have a crush on any of the members?

(In loving memory of Hide, 1964-1998.)

My Dad and I are interested in X Japan. So far, I've only listened to their first singles album, but I'm hoping to get more CD's.

That's cool. I have almost every single CD. My older brother won't let me have the last one needed.

I think you can get their last concert on DVD too. We recorded it off the tv.

I haven't really tried any of their music which is kinda weird, considering what a huge Jrock fan I am. But I do know all about them and all about hide. Reading about his death was pretty sad. From what I've seen and read, seems he was pretty amazing. One of these days I'll probably get around to trying their music.

Yeah, my older brother cried and he never cries. xD

He's influenced my brother's guitar playing a lot~ It's so nice to hear him play once in a while.

i read on wikipedia.org (cuz i was bored) that when fans of X-Japan found out Hide commited suicide four fans tried commiting suicide as well and that two of te fans died
i liked Yoshiki te most cuz in X Japan cuz hes a survivor. first his dad commits suicide when he was only 10 but his passion for music is wat gets him through and then X Japan breaks up and then Hide commits suicide right after he and yoshiki decide to bring bak X Japan. but now Yoshiki is lik te grandfather of helping start new J-Rock bands and a producer of all these other music groups im rly proud of Yoshiki kun

but yea when i watched te clip of hide's funeral i couldnt help but shed a few tears ._.

X-Japan in legendary in the Jpop industry. They popularized rock music in Japan. They introduced visual kei. Yoshi (the drummer) started a label (exstasy? I forget the spelling) that is currently responsible for some of the greatest bands today (TRAX and Dir~En~Grey). Basically if you don't know X-Japan and you're really not a Jrock fan.

Actually, it was more likely an accident. Look at the facts:

- There was no suicide note.
- He was obviously happy. He was at a good point in his life.
- He was drunk that night.

The possibility of what happened was this: He was out drinking with Yoshiki, and they were talking about starting a new X JAPAN in 2000. hide was drunk, so his brother drove him to his apartment. Now, guitarists get lots of back and neck pains for obvious reasons, and one way to help remedy that was to sit against a door and tie a towel around your neck and the doorknob to help pull the neck back, I believe. Being drunk, he may have fallen asleep, and lost conciousness in his sleep. His girlfriend found him the next morning, called an ambulence, and he died about 2 hours later in the hospital.

Anyways. X JAPAN is definetly a legendary band. I do agree with Lawleit though. They started V-Kei, and they were and still are highly looked up to by many JRockers, including Shinya of Dir en grey, etc. Without X JAPAN, many of the artists you may be listening to today may not even be in existance.

I'm really not sure if that's true or not. I got curious about what happened, and looked it up. I came across that information, but I guess if you really want to know, you'll have to ask a guitarist. ^^;

ooo. i also heard that he might have wanted to pull a prank on one of his bandmates or something, but he was drunk and messed up.
