Getting a girl's number

from a guy's or girl's perspective, what is your rule about texting/calling once you get someone's number?

later that night?
next day/night?
2 days?
play a lil' hard-to-get and go for a week? (obviously a bad choice)

Best not to seem too keen, but obviously you should call before they forget about you xP or if you've said you'll call them the next day or another particular time you should definately stick to it.

well for me, i don't just give out my number to anybody.
So if i give you my number, it means i really like you and you should probably call soon

I hate giving out numbers and all. If I don't want to go out again or ever see you again.. you won't get my number.

HOWEVER! If a guy has my number I like him and I do want to see him again.
but, i would freak out if he calls me the same day or sends a shit load of textmessages.

The next day will be nice. =)

If a guy gives me his number and i didn't asked for it.. iw on't call. If I asked for it I will text/call him a day later.

i rarely give out my number and i don't ask for one from others because i'm not seeking out a relationship. on a friendship level i'll ask for someone's number and text them however soon i need to, i don't do a ~rule~ for that

I don't really give my number out to people i've just met. Unless there's zero chance of seeing them around again without a set time, and I actually do want to see them again.

I'd generally only give my number to people i've known for a while. My boyfriend didn't know my number until 2 months after we were already dating, haha. My phone's usually only restricted to emergency, so.. It's more of a safety precaution than anything else.

But if I wanted someone (i'd recently met) to call, 2 hours later is TOO soon and 2 days later is too much. Next day :3

I'd have to say next day is fine & I agree with what may-ness & laura-app said, only give it out if I want to see him again.

Whoever made the 3-day rule must've been a patient person.

Text next day.

If they fail to respond to two texts without cause, I delete the number from my phone.

As long as you don't call/text the same day, you should be ok to do what you want at your convenience.

I think the best way is to give them your number first. Of course this doesn't really work for people you just saw and thought were cute- that's just creeperish,you should know them a bit first.>.<
If she says things like "we don't get to talk much" or something, give it to her then.She's giving you a hint she wants you to call or she wants to call you. That's what I did to get my crush's number...
