My neighbors once thought I was emo cause i wore black alot during a certain point of my life.
It's funny cause in school I'm just about the most sarcastic loud silly weird kid in my group of friends.

2 years ago I was in the school library with my cousin.3 guys came to us and called me "Emo" and "show me your wrists.Do you cut yourself?(they laughed-.-)".I said NO but they did it again and again.We ran away but they followed us o__ö WTF?I was really scared though XD.
-And now I am in the same class with the guys.Lol.But normally they are really friendly.I got a nice class >__<.What a surprise.

Stereotyping is ridiculous. My two best friends and I get called "emo" or "goth" all the time. We're used to it, so we just ignore them. (Although, how they call one of them that I will never understand. Probably just because she hangs around with us.)
It can get funny sometimes though. One day, we were just sitting in class, and some guy came up and said to my friend: "Okay, don't get mad at me or anything, but are you emo?"
Her reply was hilarious: "Okay, you tell me something. Are you a duck?"
Guy: "What? Duck?"
Friend: "Just answer the question. Are you a duck?"
Guy: "No."
Friend: "What's your name?"
Guy: "......Tedrick."
Friend: "Okay! There you go! You're Tedrick. I'm Terra. You're not a duck. You're Tedrick. I'm not emo. I'm Terra. See?"
Needless to say, he was confused. (He's not the brighted one around) He totally didn't get it, but the look on his face was HILARIOUS!!!! XD

I hate sterotypes, but we all do it wheather we like ti or not, weather we realize it or not. It's not nice and its not fair, but that's life. I used to get called a goth and punk, that was before emo. Now they don't even bother talking about me, for some reason, people in my school are scared of me...idk. But ignore them and don't let them get to you. they need a life if they are making fun of your style infact you probably have better style then everyone in your school only because you dress different and not the same as them. /in other words, people are ignorant. some fail to try to make sense of things before they say them (like maybe finding the definition of emo instead of assuming it?).

Yeah that reminds me of a time, this just happened like a few days ago. I was in Lake George and I was standing with my two sisters and these girls walk by and yell. "I smell hottopic." And it was funny cause I wasn't wearing anything from hottopic. I was wearing a shirt from Wet Seal and Skinny Jeans, the only thing that was black was my sholder volcom bag and my low rise chuck taylors. I looked like a normal person and these people are making fun of me...it made no sense. My sister had a Sweeney Todd bag, but they were looking at me when they said it. It makes no sense, people are stupid. People are very very ignorant indeed.

You kind of have to learn to accept that other people labelling you is a way for them to sort out what they think you will be like, but you can't change that unless you actually get to know them. I happen to listen to pretty much every genre of music, sometimes I want to dress in all black with a corset and sky-high stillettos, sometimes I want to wear the craziest most colourful outfit possible, sometimes I want to be very feminine and pretty, sometimes I dress like a complete tomboy. I fit quite a few 'sterotypes' at different times and over the years I've got used to people calling me a goth because I used to wear lotsof black, eyeliner and I had piercings, but these days I'm not really that bothered. My friends know that I change my clothes as I feel like it, but as a person I stay the same.

I get called "emo" by people who don't even know me, which is ridiculous, because those people probably finds pleasure in putting others down.

Don't ever give a s*** to what other people think, because you'll only end up hurting yourself, and you don't deserve it. (No one does.)

That sucks! I feel sooo sorry for you about your friends. They're really stupid for doing that to you. From your description, I don't find you emo. You just like black and so on. I wish people would stop calling you that.

Its the middle of the summer and were kinda getting cold weather already! i went down town with acouple of friends yesterday and i wore a pair of converse shoes,skinny jeans and a band T,i was down town for a half an hour then i got fed up and went home -_- 6 of my friends where calling me emo none stop! it drove me bonkers! and like what the hell! im not freakin emo! when can they get it in there heads! i like wearing band T's,skinny jeans and converse shoes! and i wear bright colors most of the time and they still call me freakin emo! DX its driveing me crazy! and i cant let it go and ignore them! like im just not that kind of persone that lets stuff go like that =/
even if i wear skinny jeans my HOT pink sneakers and a bright colored top they still call me freakin emo!

that you have an awesome fashion sense. Show them that you're not going to put up with there name calling any more, and tell them that you wouldn't go judging them for what they wear so why should you put up with it.

But yeah, I've gotten "emo" before. o_o; But I was like, what the heck? Just because of my jeans?
