Movie Reviews Rule - Please read

Dear Jammers,

Let's make this movie review sections better.

You can now embed YouTube videos here. So, if you're posting about a new movie, find a good trailer and post it

If you're posting about a new movie, also post up a POLL. The poll should have these options:

POLL OPTIONS

Great
Good
Average
Bad
Terrible - Stop wasting your time

Note: feel free to make up your own 'options' such as replacing 'Great' with 'Excellent', or Terrible with 'Sucks'.. basically the idea is to have 5 levels, ie, 1 star to 5 stars.

Also, if you're posting a new movie, put the movie name in the Title properly.

Good Movie Titles:

The Happening Reviews
The Happening (2008) - Reviews

Note: Make sure it has proper caps. The happening is incorrect. The Happening is correct.

I like to include the (year) because sometimes some movies have repeat names. Also, if say it's international you can add (International), or the (Country) in the title.

Of course if you're not posting about a particular movie, but want to talk about general movie stuff, you don't have to follow the rules above.

MODERATORS

If you have time, you can go back and edit the older movieds threads to:

1. Edit the Title to make it proper (with proper caps)

Hey, could we have a spoiler cut? or is there already one and I'm not aware of it. lol
Since we are discussing movies and people may end up posting key plot points in a movie and ruin it for the rest of us, lol XD

oh a spoiler cut is something that you can use to hide text/images etc. with a button that says "spoiler/hidden" or something along those lines. then you can click on it to show what's hidden, that is if you want to know. ;P
or the text is blacked out and to reveal the hidden text you just highlight the blacked out text.

I can show screenshots of spoiler cut examples if that will help understand it better. lol
im kind of sleepy so I'm not sure if my explanation made any sense. lol

Yeah, I guess it does make sense... but I am not sure how it would work on a forum.. I mean technically... and I think it's going to be hard to read if everyone starting to use different colors.. also, not everyone sees the forum the same color... I guess if you're posting something that might be a spoiler, you may just want to write a simple warning in your post so ppl can skip it like:

Spoiler warnings don't work very well on forum i think...

The spoiler alerts don't bother me, I think they are a good idea, so we don't ruin the movie for anyone. Then again, what are you doing talking about a movie you havent seen!?

I don't like all the technicalities with the year the movie came out and the correct capitalization, i mean come on! We aren't IMDB!! We're just trying to have fun.

What do you mean me talking about a movie I haven't seen?? If you're referring to the Dark Knight, I saw it the first day it came out!! and I only have one word to describe it... awesome! It blew me away.. !

I am a big movie buff.... and generally catches most movies the first couple days it's out!

Well, ok, got your point on the caps, etc.. we'll leave it be then.. I though it'll make it easier...

But I like to see polls set up for each movie cause it's a cool way to see what the consensus is.. don't you think?

I always talk about movies i havent seen. like the potential of the movie, read reviews posted by other members etc.

Whoa, whoa, whoa! I wasn't saying 'you' as in yourself personally, I meant it as in people in general. And I don't care much for polls either. :P

Spoiler cuts usually don't display the spoiler part until you click on ::SPOILER:: or whatever words are used and then it'll display it.
