Lolita-Inspired, On my way to Lolita
Okay so these pics aren't the best. But I tell you I've come a long way in my lolitaisms...
My first lolita attempt ever: http://marionettechild.deviantart.co...natte-42446921
My first sweet lolita ever:
http://marionettechild.deviantart.co...an-be-51019046
Okay. So now you see the failures lets get down to what looks much more like lolita:
Classic Lolita. Top half.
Sweet Lolita, Jsk and blouse mix. [Sorry for blurryness]
Sweet Lolita Daily wear.
Punky Lolita [I only say it is punkish lolita because someone told me that the corset top reminded them of h.Naoto ]
Now my dear friend Katie thinks I have one outfit that is right on the nose of lolita. Now, I personally wouldn't say that. I would say that is Almost lolita, it just needs a little BURANDO. [cough] ehem... I mean Brand. Which is really the thing that makes you most popular in the lolita community...
Lets see what you think:
Note: I would own brand if my parents would let me order things online. But because of how skeptical they are I will have to wait until next year when I am in college to own anything that people consider Real lolita. However, I am not your normal lolita-inspired wearing person, I actually do know a lot about Lolita. If you have any questions I can steer you in the right direction.

I like the first picture best!
I don't think that it's important to own brand clothes!

The lace parasol you have in the 4th picture down is generally looked down upon by lolitas, i think! Other than that, I think your outfits are pretty good for someone without access to online shopping! You can always buy "loliable" items from the mall, etc. and go to the fabric store to buy better lace, ribbons, whatever for your lolita clothes.

That is actually one of my older outfits, but yes, raschel lace anything is generally looked down upon by lolitas. u.u

You are simply adorable! <3 The one thing I don't like about the EGL comm is that they're all so critical ... They insist that you can be fully decked out in 'burando' and still look like crap, but I've yet to come across such an episode. 90% of the time, if the girl isn't wearing the all-Holy brand, she doesn't get very nice comments. I think it's quite ridiculous, and not very 'lolita' in a setting of mind at all. =/ But anyway ... XD;
Have you seen my gothic lolita thread on here? =3 I reckon I managed to pull off quite a nice ensemble, without any brand as well --- And I have access to all of the 'burandos', haha. ^^; I just preferred to collect things from random places, it was much more fun! ((Not to mention much more cheaper. =P))

Thanks =3 your really sweet <3.
I saw your post and I remember seeing it on EGL as well. I remember the comments as well. That isn't necessarily the nicest community ever ^^;;
I got some really bad wank once when I posted on gaia, from one person in particular. That person is now like my hated enemy and she really scared me out of Lolita for a while -_-“But I'm back now, and ready to go!
I totally agree with you! Finding lolita clothing in like Marshalls, Ross, TJmaxx is so rewarding. Not to mention 100s Cheaper. Meta has a skirt like the one I am wearing in the last picture for like $200 and mine was like 10. n.n!

I think they are way cute :3
Kinda like casual lolita!
Your hair is reallyreally cute~! ^w^
It works well for you, curled and not.
Opinions:
The punk lolita doen't seem very punk to me... xD
I've got a dress with a ribbon lace up like that in the front too.
No one has called it punk lolita yet~
The blue striped dress for the sweet lolita seems..
Off. Somehow.
It might be because it's so plain.
Maybe if you add something to it~?
Right now I wouldn't even think it was lolita-ish. >_<;
The dailywear I lovelove n_n
The shirt for the last I don't like much,
but thats just my personal style opinion,
I don't like ruffles like that ;3;
I think they are sooo unflattering.
Not to say that it's bad at all,
thats just my opinion n_n~!
And I agree with almost everything that has been said about the EGL community~
I think the only community place I've ever posted was a gaia guild.
And someone there didn't like my headdress, it looked too maid-like.
(Lulz, it was from my maid outfit so I had no problem with the comment)
Personally I don't plan to join anything lolita community related until I'm more put together~
But every kind of hobby community is like that,
I do BJDs and there are deffinatly those kind of elitest people.
u_u it's sad~

I appreciate your opinions! n.n They are much nicer then the ones I have gotten through the elites on gaia.
And I really do agree with everything you said! [personally] I don't like the last outfit at all because I really like brighter colors much better. Plus, you can't grow without at least some criticism and your were much more helpful then criticism =3.

Okay good!
I was worried I came off as too mean ;3;
I think you look really great in the lighter colors as well,
like the first picture - that shirt it just great on you!
I'm so jealous because my skin is a bit daker shade so I don't look as good in darker colors u_u
But I'm still going for sweet lolita!
It's too bad you can't order off the internet,
a friend of mine is starting an AnnaHouse group,
and thats a great inexpensive company <3
(I already have pieces coming from them, haha, couldn't wait).
And pieces from there would fit in great!
If you ever want to talk loli I'm here,
haha, I'm on aim and all a lot -
and always looking for nice people to chat with n_n
Funny enough~
I've talked to the sister of the girl that runs a big EGL guild on gaia,
(who seems pretty nice)
so in a way I'm in the know with the community,
but, eh~
haha.

I would love to order from AnnaHouse, I’ve seen their website everything is absolutely gorgeous! I think I'm going to buy shoes from Ling Lam ebay shop and probably one cutsew from Baby.
I'm really upset that I am short though. I will have to hunt for Shirley Temple and buy custom made stuff from in the starlight. D= I’m only 4’8” and I’m not growing anymore. ; _ ; Oh well! Can’t change that.
Oh no your not mean at all! Your really nice! And I would really love to talk to you about Lolita stuff and just Lolita in general =3. Its really hard to find a nice Loli who won’t obsess about the fact that you don’t own brand. >> Glad to have met you =^-^=.

Hehe, I'm waiting for shoes from LingLam's shop too,
I hope they get here soon ;3;
Havn't really gotten any contact infomation from them...
so I'm a little worried..
But hopefully everything is fine.
Oh!
I love Baby Cutsews,
I think some of those are my favorite items they have! haha.
Don't understand why people don't like pieces like that as much~
Honestly I'm not in love with Baby,
I like them a lot,
and they have a tooon of reallyreally cute stuff,
but I just want.. I dunno, more for the price.
(haha, I'm going to be killed for that statement I bet xD )
Aww, thats such a cute height though!
I honestly couldn't tell from the pictures, haha!
Plus being short just means you look sooooooo much better in talltall shoes!
n_n
I think tall lolitas look.. off.
Yay, okay great : D
Just watch out,
I can blurb a lot... xD
